How to build your own high powered burning laser.

Alright guys! In honor of 1000 posts, I decided to make a cool guide for those of us who always wanted a lightsaber. 


Things you shall need:
1x 200mw laser module (http://dx.com/p/200mw-532nm-green-laser-module-3v-11-9mm-26891?r=93098389) I got a 100mw  650nm laser module on ebay for 10 bucks that burns well. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiBuTKHUUTI). there is a seller on eBay by the name of laserlands who sells good modules and ships pretty fast from China. 
 

1x 2AA or 3AA batteryu pack pre wired -http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062253&locale=en_US

 

"X"xAA batteries. Depends on size of battery pack you choose. 

Switch - http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062501

 

Electrical Tape. 

 

Keep in mind you can get these items for much cheaper at your local Fry's or hardware store than radio shack because radio shack is  a rip off. 

 

Alright. So you got everything. time to wire everything up.

Can that thing really burn stuff? I made mine a few years ago with a 2 watt 450nm blu-ray laser and it can only etch denser materials like the back of an ipod.

yeaj it can light matches burn through tape and pop balloons and kill ants.

Yeah use laser goggles for the specific wavelength if your playing with lasers.

At that point he would have to buy some crazy goggles upwards of 5000 dollars made for laboratories.

Neat - gonna build one and laser drivers on the highway. Never seen 18wheeler jump on upcoming traffic up close.

 

Apart from my stupid ideas nice tut. Propably never gonna use it, but still neat.

Oh, i entered this topic with the high hopes... :(

 

I wanted to put those "lasers" on sharks and use them to dominate the world :D, i guess i should get my hopes a bit lower :(. :P

those ate gimmicks and don't work. Lasers are an expensive hobby, keep your safety a priority. Just because it says it works it doesn't. Those let so much light pass through its unbelievable. And for a 2500mw laser i would only trust scientist grade goggles for my eyes.

Well I got my free from Wicked lasers they're made for their S3 Arctic Spyder III.

At this point of this thread I am amazed that terrorists aren't using lasers for placing distraction and causing massive chaos but instead use expensive and inefficient way of suicide bombing people.

 

They could blind few people from few hundred meters inside a traffic for some epic action no? Correct me if I am wrong but it only would take a bit of practice to 'snipe' drivers by blinding them from away.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

one 5mw 532nm green laser can take down a boeing 747. Just point at the cockpit. That's something i was thinking about.
