Forced Driver Updates in Windows 10 Is the Worst Idea Ever, Here's Why

So, after a a week of research, and attempt after attempt, i finally got Windows 10 running (very well i might add) on my Macbook White mid 2010 (Using the bootcamp 4.0.4033 softare designed for windows 7).

 

Normally this kind of thing is fun. This wasn't fun. It was hell.

 

So, i'll let you to imagine how ****** off i got when Windows 10 decided to install the latest NVIDIA GPU driver!

 

 

Luckily, LUCKILY. This was just a GPU driver, so safe mode saved my bacon. But this has happened before, and safe mode stole my bacon, and gave it to Cortana. And that's part of what made this MacBook project living hell.

 

Microsoft. I know you think that all your users are. this: 

 

But it's not true. Just set automatic updates as the default, and then put a setting somewhere, so that the people who know what they're doing, can do what they want.

 

Fine, let security updates be forced, but do not control my drivers.

And yet with linux you wouldn't have had that issue. Basides the air is a x86 computer just like all the others, there is no real reason for which windows 10 shouldn't run on it fine, especially when the only real problem was caused by windows update.

It would work fine, if Windows update hadn't installed that update.

I had Ubuntu on it before. But as usual, it's down to compatibility. At some point i will put Ubuntu on there. But first i need to do a system image backup (which isn't working, so i'll need to fix that).

Nope. You guys are forgetting that i've put countless hours of research into this. Installing the most recent version of the BC support software that's compatible with my macbook is recommended.
