Problems with Flight Simulator X on Windows 10 Pro

Here is a list of problems I have started to encounter once I switched to WIndows 10:

- Aircraft models will not load on home screen

- FSX will only run in windowed mode (I have two monitors and when I try running it in full screen mode it just flashes images from the game and a black screen)

- Random crash

Really? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. D':

Also the reason it's only using 35% of your gpu is you're using a pretty slow AMD CPU at 3 GHz.

Random crashes seem normal though, given it's FSX.

My computer is 6 years old. I plan on getting a new $1500-$2500 gaming/editing PC but in a year :(

I'm actually doing a long haul flight on FSX right now. I run it with DX10 and SweetFX injected. Seems okay with Windows 10 for me. FSX was the first thing I tried after I updated because I do regular flights and I would be devastated if it couldn't work on Win 10.

Don't worry, I'm in a pretty similar situation. I can rarely get GPU usage in FSX to 100%, usually when I'm at 40k feet cruising.

Man this really makes me sad. I hope Microsoft brings back Aces or SOMETHING and does FSX properly in DX12. Not that Flight bullshit where they tried to milk us for money with uncompleted stuff.

There should be an FSX club here, it's surprising how many of us there are.

Isn't there an issue with Dual monitors at the moment, or was that fixed?

Amatuer FSXer here, but I'd love my local airfield to be better featured. I need practice locating the bloody runway.

FSX gives me a problem where if I have a second monitor plugged in (and this is fairly recent) it'll render at like 1024x768 and only show the top left half of the game on my primary monitor, been having to use windowed mode for the time being.

Your local airfield probably got more love than mine. Granted this placed looked a looooot more different 9 years ago but still. :(

Indeed.

How many hours you clocked?

Sadly not enough, but in the while I've had FSX maybe 2+k?

For me, ja.

This gives me hope.

I counted around 600 hours because I had been flying on FS09 (FS 2004) for a loooooooooooooooooong time and had to reinstall FSX like twice -.-

I had been doing 6 hour flights daily but over the last 3 years school has really taken over :(

I think not haha, according to the sim there are brick buildings all over it. Nothing but green fields. Also, the runway(s) aren't as long as they are in-sim - not the mention the hill horse racing course over hill to reference :D

Maybe we could try to get a pinned FSX thread going? ^^

It's huge! All they fly from my one is Cessna's and Spitfires :D.

They got a few more twin seats and a few private ones, but can't remember the entire inventory.

Piper super Cubs and another WW2 plane, uh.. Harvard or something? :)

EDIT: An hour in the Spitfire costs £3000. <_<

So yeah @User1868 @JustChilling @JefferyEagan @ I would love to make an FSX dedicated thread, anyone feel like participating?

Wow I feel so amateur. I've only clocked like 260 hours on my VA. >.<

I mainly fly the 777 but I do fly the 737 sometimes. Probably the best $90 and $70 I spent. Can't wait for a 787 if PMDG ever makes it.

Yeah totally, we should get in touch with an admin to sticky an FSX thread in the PC Gaming forum
