ASUS Z97-A no internet!

callmecars
Go to solution Solved by MrYuriy,

My best recommendation is to start fresh and re-install all your drivers. Sometimes if you go in some extraordinarily "weird" pattern of downloading drivers, like sound driver before chipset, etc, I've seen odd problems like this arise.

Just start over. If this happens again, with the same error message, you probably have a faulty ethernet controller on your board.

help! I finally got a PC and I've been trying to set it up, I downloaded all the drivers from the ASUS website (even the lan and ethernet drives) and there's still no internet! I'm trying to connect via an ethernet cable and I know that we do have internet because the laptops are working fine via wifi.

when I click troubleshoot I get the message "windows could not find a driver for your network adapter"

what mobo did you have?

is there any LED lights on the LAN port?

are you sure you installed the LAN driver?

Check your Ethernet cable on the modem and your PC, make sure you cable is in good condition. Also try another cable if you have one.

the ethernet looks good, its brand new and I don't have any other cable here

isn't this just an issue of not installing something?

based on the error you got

it may mean the driver wasnt install properly

go to device manager and update the LAN driver from there using the .inf file from the LAN driver zip file

Most likely. Worst case you may have a faulty MotherBoard

Make sure the Ethernet drivers are installed correctly. If it says it is installed, or you get an error, try installing them in Safe mode.
