Macbook pro retina 15.4

I recently brought one and found out the screen display only works at 1440x900 what is the best program that works where i can get the screen to run at 2880x1800.

First of all don't buy mac, buy PC.. And for the love of god i hope you have installed windows :)

Now to get started on your question:

The retina 15-inch version have a display resolution of: 2880x1800 and scaling options of 1920x1200, 1680x1050, 1280x800 and 1024x640. NOT 1440x900. so are you sure you have the 15 inch and not the 13 inch.

The 13 inch have: 2560x1600 and scaling for: 1680x1050, 1440x900 and 1024x640.

Another problem could be that you don't have a Macbook pro RETINA, but just the normal macbook pro.

For the "normal" macbook pro the default resolution is 1440x900.

Since i never have owned a mac i don't know if you can check in the os or under it, but another way of checking is the price you have payed.

The retina version goes for around 2100 to 2800 USD and the normal 1700 - 2100 USD (here are both the 15 inch version) maybe post a picture of the buttom of the unit so we can see if there is any information we could use, just make sure to cover things like the end of the serial number etc.

Macbooks are the best laptops. If you dont want to use OSX, you can just install Windows on it.

Apple has amazing build quality but anyway...

I believe you sir, have the non-retina version (native resolution of 1440 by 900). Where'd you buy it? Could be some kind of mix-up or something but who knows... I'm 99% sure that's the issue though.

EDIT: Click the apple icon in the top left then click 'About This Mac'. I can't remember for sure but it but you may have to click 'more info' to find out what model it is.

Macbooks are the best laptops. If you dont want to use OSX, you can just install Windows on it.

True they are great for laptops.

Probably the easiest option of them all, SetResX is a little menu-bar app that allows you to run 2880×1800 easily.

Hopefully the developer of SetResX will find a less shady site to host their app, but nonetheless SetResX is a nice little find by CultOfMac
