1080p/1440p Is it possible to game at these resoultions?

I have a FX6300 and a GTX 760. Will those two allow for ultra settings 1080p/60fps and med/low settings 1440p 60fps?

More like high settings 60fps 1080p.

Low-some medium on 1440p but i wouldn't recommend it.

Totally depends on the game. If it's LoL, your GPU will barely have to work.

I'm not planning on Crysis 3. It's really more like Sleeping Dogs, CS, TF2, Borderlands 2.

I have the i5 4670K and the GTX760 and I can play any game at 60+ FPS at ultra except metro last light. I only can play that at high. I have stock cooling on it with no overclocking.

More like high settings 60fps 1080p.

Low-some medium on 1440p but i wouldn't recommend it.

I have the i5 4670K and the GTX760 and I can play any game at 60+ FPS at ultra except metro last light. I only can play that at high. I have stock cooling on it with no overclocking.

760 is about on par with a 670. I owned a 670 and it pretty much got the job done for any game @ 1080p ultra settings. Only thing is you have to lower AA settings down to about 2x levels. But for the games you listed like Sleeping Dogs, CS, TF2, Borderlands 2 you can play all of these maxed out without issues @ 1080p.

 

For 1440p the card isn't really designed for this resolution unless you are running SLI.

I'm not planning on Crysis 3. It's really more like Sleeping Dogs, CS, TF2, Borderlands 2. 

If it's only those games, then you're fine. I have a 6350 (overclocked to 4.2Ghz) and a 760 and I run all of those games on max graphics (except for ambient occlusion because IMO it makes the game look shit)

The GTX 760 is weaker than it gets credit for. The R9 280 costs about the same and is faster across the board. The 760 actually can even fall behind the R9 270X in some games. I would not bother with 1440p, as only older games will run well at that resolution. 1080p is fine, but you might need to tweak certain high-impact settings like AA in newer games.

 

That being said, the games you listed are pretty easy to get running at 60 FPS at 1080p. Source engine games like CS and TF2 are going to run very, very well on nearly anything. Borderlands is well-optimized for Nvidia cards, although PhysX might drag performance down. I used to play Sleeping Dogs with my old GTX 460 at 1080p and it was mostly just fine too. I don't think any of them will struggle with a 760.

You never really have to overclock anything, because overclocking will almost never give you enough performance to turn an unplayable game into a playable one. Overclocking can be fun, though. That's the best reason to do it.

With my specs (in signature -- very similar to yours, bit slower), I can get 60fps minimum in Far Cry 3 Ultra @ 1080p, Borderlands 2 & Pre-sequel work decently with a bit of lag if PhysX is at or above medium, TF2 can run on a toaster and so can CS/CS:GO.

I use a Lenovo T440: i5 4300U, 8GB RAM, 128GB Samsung 840 Evo, 14" 900p display and an external 23" 1080p passive 3D monitor. Extended 6-cell battery with internal 3-cell. Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (I only use open-source software -- haven't paid for a single program yet).

GTX 760 at 1440P is a big no no unless you enjoy playing at 30FPS on low-ish details...you'll have to tweak a lot to get descent performance...at 1080P if you want 60FPS in most of your game you are looking at medium/high-ish kind of settings.

You could get 4.2GHz on that quite easily.

The GPU capabilities will be enough, but with only 2 GB of VRAM per GPU there might be some issues with the maximum settings with some newer games.
