What monitor am I looking for?

TommyKarlzzon

Hello. I'm looking for a new monitor. I don't know what yet though. Sorry for my English, I am from Scandinavia.

So I have heard TN panels are for gaming, and that IPS is for Designers only. But which one is the right for me?

I am someone who spends most of my time playing online video games, such as BF4 & Smite, otherwise I watch movies. I have only used 60 Hz 1080p so far, so this is a very confusing step for me. Should I go for a IPS 60 Hz 1440p/1600p monitor, or a TN 120 Hz/144 Hz 1080p/1440p monitor?

So I have heard, but I do not know what is a TN panel compared to a IPS? Why do people say TN panels are bad, but still say ROG Swift is best monitor on the market? What is negative with TN panel?
