Question about HD 6950

I have this video card

[h=1]MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III PE/OC

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127575

, I flashed it to a 6970 when I got it and it runs fine but it gets a little warm for my taste even after I replaced the thermal paste. I wondered if anyone knows of a water block that will work on this card? If not a water block then maybe a really nice air cooler? I have been looking off and on for quite awhile but never really found anything that I was sure would work with a non reference video card. Thanks in advance![/h]

I just check a few sites and none have full water blocks for that card. Even the Swiftech Universal block, MCW82, doesn't fit it. Afraid you are out of luck for WC most likely.

Check out Arctic Cooling - they make a lot of after market - see if any of these work...

Thanks for looking into it for me guys it is much appreciated. This air cooler looks pretty cool.

The only thing that worries me is down at the bottom of the page it says:

The compatibility list is based on AMD Radeon and NVIDIA's reference board layout only. ARCTIC holds no responsibility for incompatibility on non reference boards.

I just found this and one of the reviews says the guy put 1 on a 6970 Lightning from MSI so I think it will work with mine... Thanks guys for showing me that brand of coolers. I never heard of them before!

in case you where still looking, i found full water blocks for the 6950/70 from koolance about a year back. you would probably have to do some searching but ive been running a pair of them for a little over a year in crossfire and i never see temps over 35-40c.

both my 6950s are reference boards unlocked with 6970 bios. additionally, i removed the 6 pin and added an 8 pin for extra power in overclocking.

MSI frozr is NOT a reference card, and the artic will NOT fit.. several missed the fine-print on fleebay.

sell the card, buy a newer 2/3GB reference and block it up.. pass on the uni block as it tends to present

other issues like VRM cooling, memory cooling and then it'll look like a porcupine.. move to the newer

generation cards
