Buying a brand-new phone from last year: will it have battery issues?

Hi there, I'm thinking about buying a Huawei P30 Pro, that is a perfect phone for features and current price (at least for me). For it specs and with Huawei support, it will still be a top phone even in 2021. I only have one doubt; the phone obviously would come with a battery that's already at least one year old. How much would this affect its life span?

 

I'm force to change my LG G6 just because of battery problems: I replaced the original battery but every single replacement I can find online was manufactured in 2017, so they are batteries with already 3 years of life (even if they were not used) and they last much less than the original one did when it was new. MUCH. LESS.

 

Any advice?

It's fine. Batteries don't go bad in a year without use.

A year of lying in a warehouse is not nearly as bad for a battery as a year of daily use. It will technically have some degradation, but not that much

 

You are aware of the whole "no Google store or apps on Huawei" thing, right?

P30 Pro has Google Apps and everything, since it's a 2019 model. At least, here in Europe it's like that. 100% sure!

Depends on the manufacture date, really. That phone came out about 18 months ago. If the battery discharged in say 6 months and has been sitting depleted for another 12 months, you may be looking at something like 90-95% health out of the box.
