For how long will the 1660 super good for 1080p ultra settings, and when i likely get one, what path should i take for upgrading, should i do it three, four, maybe six months down the line, or just wait longer to be able to play games. sorry if the wording is bad, i'm tired and even when i'm not i have trouble typing stuff out like this and it making any actual since

Mid tier cards dont last long in "ultra graphics long term gaming" I would say a year or year and a half tops. If you want to keep your card for a while (and play games at high to ultra settings) I always suggest getting something either the top of the line or just one below it.

We don't know what new gpus will be like and how the 1660 super will fair in the future.  For now enjoy your card.
