Keep M.2 heatsink on?

I got the ASrock H470M-itx motherboard with an m.2 heatsink, do I keep the heatsink and the sticker on the m.2 sticker on? Also, there are protective films for the heatsink, if I only have one ssd installed do I only take one film off or should I take both off?
