Well, I mean not exactly big boy, I am a college student. Just meant to be a catchy title.

If you have to buy a GPU now get a 2070S/2080.

if you can wait till Q3 of this year there will be some other newer cards released. Which means 1) grab a new card or 2) grab the ones suggested above for probably a bit cheaper then now.

Budget (including currency): 300-1000$

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Grand Theft Auto V, Witcher 3, Doom Eternal, and Cyberpunk 2077

Currently, these are my specs:

  • Motherboard: B450M Steel Legend
  • CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
  • RAM: 24gb 3200mhz
  • PSU: EVGA 500w
  • GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB
  • Monitor: 1080p 60hz

Hello, I'm looking to upgrade my GPU so it can stop being a big bottleneck for me. Preferably, I'd like if it can play Deus Ex: Mankind Divided at more than medium settings without the fps dropping below 60 at times.

rtx titan x4 watercooled with a custom block and all the radiators.

That will run Deus Ex: Mankind Divided while folding at high power in the background!!!

The 2070 Super and 2080 are the only big boy GPUs in your budget, the 2080ti is too much. Depending on the PSU you have, either would probably call for that to be upgraded as well. New GPUs are supposed to be coming out in september of this year so it might be wise to hold off and see what comes out or at least wait until then to get a used one for cheap when others upgrade. But if you want to get one now, I'd say 2070 Super or 2080 go for the best you can get for your budget. Either will pair fine with the 3600.
