MS Office Alternative?

I've never been a fan of OpenOffice and its derivatives, but it's really subjective. Best to explore by yourself and choose what's best for you:

(notice you can filter by OS, type of licensing, etc).

For "we've ripped off MS Office and just gave it another name" alternatives, WPS used to be the one, although I think they toned it down lately. They shifted too much to adware at some point, so I got rid of it. Now I use it again in Linux, don't know if I would trust it in Windows, but they seemed to have learned the lesson. In any case, it's no better than others I also use or used in the past: SoftMaker Office, OnlyOffice... Probably forgetting some other.

For "achieve the same as with MS Office", then the alternatives are practically limitless, both free and paid. That includes the ones I mentioned, but it's worth to go back at that link an have a look. Often "the best" comes down to a particular feature you use regularly.
