Amd 3300x

Hey there,

 

I’ve just decided to upgrade from an old i5 4460 With 8gb ram to an AMD 3300x 16gb, any ideas about how much performance increase will be? Thanks so much!

 

(for reference I have a 6gb gtx 1060 graphics card if this helps, this won’t be upgraded)

Pretty much like going from your i5 to an i7 7700K. You'll get a good 40-60% increase in performance depending on the task.

Between ryzen 3300x and Ryzen 5 2600 for GeForce 2070 ? Which one would you recommend? This is going to be my first build so I am not sure about which parts to pair with each other

for that sort of high end gpu definitely don’t skimp on cpu power. I’d probably recommend waiting for the b550 boards If it’s and you’re after since this is your first build as it’ll give you some headroom in the future, it’ll also allow the price of 3300x to settle down by then. I’d maybe recommend stepping up to a more mid range cpu but I’m not too familiar with their performance, definitely check out some videos or blogs about it.

Ryzen 5 3600 or of you are on a budget 1600af (basically a 2600)

AMD Cpus like faster ram, But you will probably end up getting about double the speed. Pretty good upgrade IMO,

Where are you finding the 3100 or 3300x to buy ?

 

The only site i keep seeing is B&H and it's preorder.

 

How did so many people on youtube get these that early ?

It's not out yet so that's why it's preorder.  I suppose all those are reviewers and they got those cpu sent to them by amd or something like that for review purpose. 

 

You can look on newegg too, I don't know B&H.
