Asus pce ac56 slow speeds?

Hey, so I live in a student flat, my flat doesn't have access to cable so i've had to purchase a wifi card for my desktop gaming pc. got the Asus pce ac56 after reading alot of positive reviews, was fine at first then now its getting really slow, typically 10-30 mbps down with 40 upload. when on my phone im getting a consistent 100/100 connection if not even faster. I've tried switching channels with the software that comes with it but nothing seems to help anymore. any tips?

Did it wiggle out a bit? Maybe change antenna directions?

Lots of reasons:

  • Distance from router
  • Interference
  • Do you have it set to AC?
  • Did you install the drivers/software suite?

it didn't wiggle out or anything, i've tried changing the antenna directions aswell, so i'm kinda lost here haha. maybe i have to do a clean install of windows

I don't know if you would need a clean install of windows. Try updating all wifi related drivers, etc.

already did, I have the latest drivers unfortunately

EDIT:  Watched a youtube video on advanced settings, got abit faster but still only half the speed on the wifi on my phone, which i found weird. but i did increase the speed about 25 mbit.

HMmm. Thatds odd. I don't know what to say? Maybe bad wifi card.
