How do I Move my OS To my ssd?

Blizzxeu

I've got a 256gb ssd and 1tb hdd. I want to completely wipe my Windows 10 OS that's on the HDD currently and start it on the ssd. How do I do this?

You will need a NTFS formatted external drive or USB flash drive
Control Panel > Click "Backup and Restore"
Click "Create a system image".

Select the external USB drive or USB flash drive as the destination disk to save Windows system image, click "Next" to continue.
select partitions you want to back up
Click "Start backup" to begin creating your current system image to the USB drive.

Or you can use 3rd party tools to migrate OS, but probably need to shrink OS partition on HDD, cuz 1TB doesn't fit into 256 GB...

You can clone your HDD on to your SSD with something like Macrium Reflect.

If your goal is to create an entirely fresh install on the SSD, then follow this to create a windows 10 installer: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15088/windows-10-create-installation-media

To get your current product key if you have lost it, follow this guide: https://www.groovypost.com/howto/find-your-windows-10-product-key/

Its always better to do a clean install of the O/S on a new storage device.
