1080p graphics card under $100 for 2020?

TweakBox

So 2020 comes in and I'm in the market for a budget graphics card that can game 1080p, do some bit of media encoding/decoding and under $100 or a bit over.

I've been researching and found some potential candidates like the GIGABYTE GTX 1650 WindForce OC and the Asus ROG RX 570 and saw mixed reviews about the said cards and I'm having a hard time deciding because I'll be daily driving which card I'll be buying for a very long time due to my very limited budget. Also, used cards are very hard for me to come by due to me living in the Philippines.

I have been rocking an oldie, stock-cooled Ryzen 3 2200g and I have been using it's built-in Vega graphics.

The rest of my build:

-16GB (8GB x2 @ 2400mhz) @ 3200mhz oc dual-channel RAM

MSI A320M PRO-M2 V2 (replaced with store warranty)

- ASUS EX-320M-GAMING

- 1.5TB (500GB x3) Harddrives

-Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 550W

Spend $80 on a used rx 470/480/GTX 970

And for the love of God $20 on a 120gb SSD for Windows

You could rock a 570 8gb from eBay for just under $100 shipped. Or just jump to a GTX 1070 for $160-180 used. I'd skip out on the 1650.

I just don't value the 1650 at all. I don't feel like that's even a option when it comes to budgeting since there's a ton of used AMD RX cards out there.

Won't the GTX 1070 be bottle-necked by the CPU when gaming?

I would definitely pick some high power draw gpu with that quality(Seventeam OEM) 550W psu.

Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 550 W burned while we tried to pull 550 W from it at high temperatures.

The GT 730 is one of the worst value cards ever for that price. I bought a used gtx 750 ti for $50 and it slaughters the 730.

I'll upgrade my system soon. I'm currently living alone so upgrades are hard to budget out. And at the moment, read and write speeds aren't too much of an issue for me right now.

I found a used xFX rx470 for $20. I am trying to get in contact with the seller but no responses yet.

$20 bucks is sketchy, like too low. There are a bunch of fake GPUs on wish and some of those other chinese websites right now, make sure you aren't getting something like that. Also for REAL get an SSD, it's not even just about read/write speeds, it's latency. If you are still just using hard drives, it's seriously one of the biggest upgrades you can make right now, and you can get 250 gig ones for about 30-40 dollars. Worth looking in to.

As for your gpu, buy it used from ebay and get an 8gb card if you can. The 470 4gb is fine, though, and plenty cheap, but I wouldn't go any lower than that. Good luck.
