AirPods Pro or Sony WF-1000MX3

PalkiaRock484

So I’ve been looking around online for the past few days now, and I haven’t been able to find a lot of the comparison into I’ve been wanting. So far, the Sony’s seem like the better option concerning sound and anc, plus being $50 cheaper currently, however they’re not water resistant. I’m not planning on swimming with them, but I’d like to be able to use them at the gym or in a light drizzle without too Koch concern. Also the airpods seem like they stay in your ear better and fit more comfortable, as well as not pick up wind noise like I’ve heard the Sony’s have had an issue with.

ps I have an iPhone so yes I get all the ease of use stuff

Have you had any experience with the regular AirPods? They are relatively water resistant and won't have issues being used in the rain.

You can use EarPods as an analog for how regular AirPods fit, but not for how they stay in your ear. That's one point where the AirPods Pro are very good at, they won't fall out.

Yeah sorry my thing wasn’t that clear. It seems the main draw to the airpod pros vs the Sony’s is that the Sony’s aren’t classified as water resistant at all, and Sony’s website also advises again using them in a setting where water could get into them. I’m wondering if anyone here has the Sony’s and thinks that this is actually a problem.

If you're going to the gym, I'd get the AirPods Pro.  The water resistance will help, and you'll probably prefer the comfort and size on top of the added usability.  The Sony buds are supposed to sound better, but in a gym I'd appreciate Apple's noise cancellation more.
