Hey modders newbie here need tips.

Optimusgrime

hey everyone,

first time modder here looking to change an existing case i have and change the orientation of the components and need some details explained please.

so looking change the position of a psu, what are the main things i need to take into consideration when mounting to the base, do i need to have it raised and what materials should i use for the case's base?.

other mod im looking to do to the case is go from a laid down to a vertical mounted motherboard, have any tips for mounting, ie material to use and mounting brackets etc.

i know it probably is really basic for alot of people on this forum but im really excited to get started so please go dumb on the explanations.

Thanks in advance.

Depends on your specific change you want to do but in general extruded aluminium channel is a good start for making brackets and if you need mounting plates sheet acrylic works well.

i dont see the point but w/e i do crazy stuff to so ill give you that. i guess if the gpu is all ready using a rizer cable then all you need is a mount for the gpu. there a few cheap ones depending on how you want to mount it.

as for the mb tray the hard part is making a hole for the io shield. you can mount it on stand offs.

then you need something to fill in your old hols.

as for the psu i think it has its own mount i think so just have to cut a new hole and mount that.
