Various Focusrite 2i2 issues

VoidX

Hi, I have some problems with my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. After a while, it starts dropping audio frames (about every other frame), or stops outputting audio entirely. I know this is a driver issue, because when it happens, only one application (or Windows audio node, whatever it is called) is affected. A media player might work perfectly, while the browser's audio is distorted. The issue is only fixed by resetting the thing, I even put a power switch on the USB cable as this happens daily. Is there any fix or custom driver for this?

Last time I had an issue with a scarlett interface I had to reinstall windows because reinstalling the driver did not fix it.

You should test it with another PC first before though, so that you're100% sure it's not a defective interface.

I've found that Focurite's are super finicky on Windows machines for whatever reason. When I would troubleshoot them on Windows machines there would be all sorts of problems like you described, but then when we would plug the same device into a Mac it would work flawlessly with no issues. Only way we could resolve these issues would be to do a fresh install of the application (adobe audition, audacity, etc) or do a fresh windows install. Annoying for sure.
