My first upgrade in years!

MrHoliday

Finally upgraded my own machine after building multiple for friends and old co-workers.

CPU: i7-9700k

Motherboard: Asus Strix Z390 E-gaming board

Ram: Corsair Vengeance 32GB 3000

SSD: WD Blue 500GB (been debated to upgrading against to an m.2)

HDD: WD Blue 1TB 7200rpm

Graphics: Geforce RTX 2070 Super

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G3 80 Plus Gold

Probably could have done better on the wire management, but its not really visable when the case is closed up and low red... I also can change the RGB at any time.

Are the monitors mismatched? Yes... but meh lol

Nickname? THE BIG RED MACHINE

Looks great man, except that cable management for your GPU, and below your GPU hurts my soul. There's cutouts below your motherboard in the PSU shroud that are meant for routing all those cables, not the side one.

Also, you should consider joining the "Run your PCIE Cables Down Not Up" Masterrace

It looks solid though dude. I'm also completely anal about my cables. I spent hours doing my cables, then when my cablemod came in a few weeks later, I spent another 2 hours redoing it.

For instance in this pic I just took its hard to see but my combs are uneven and it gives me anxiety every time I look at it.

Yeah I love it. I love how clean it looks and how the light just naturally shows off the components.

I moved the GPU power cable to the bottom and the little bit of wire at the bottom isn't changing... tucked em in as much as I could... white looks so clean.

That looks a lot better man. Now wait until you got more money than brains and drop $100 on cablemod, then there's really no going back in the enthusiast department.

And I agree, the white looks so much cleaner and nicer.

I started with, "oh i'll just get a few new parts" then basically got a whole new machine... i'll eventually get nicer cable. Lol.

Story of my life. This Black Friday I was originally planning on doing maybe a $1000 upgrade, ended up dropping almost $4k on a new rig and monitor, with sales.

Nice build,

I think to make it faster / smoother and reduce cables is to invest in some M.2 nvme drives so they go direct into the m/board.

you could also re arrange the 24pin m/board power cable,

apart from that, nice spec.

No reason to rearrange 24-pin... and yea the m.2 is a plus, but do i feel like actually redoing my PC? Meh... in time.

Have you used this model motherboard much in past builds?

I'm searching for a good reliable board to use in my first build and can't make up my mind on what to use.

Too many choices lol.

I'm personally a big fan of Asus and had the Asus Hero VII prior to this attached to my old i7-6700. I know Asus is pretty consistent and used another model on my brother's build, the b450 i think for AMD R7
