Motherboard BIOS update question

So I am building my friends pc tmr, and it has a AMD Ryzen 5 3600, and the motherboard is a MSI B450 Tomahawk. On the website, it says it I supports 3rd gen Ryzen, so do you recommend I build I try to get the system to post before I do the update? Or should I just flash the update via USB stick before I the cpu in? And if it doesn't post with the everything installed, do I need to take everything off the board before I take flash the update?

It has a flash BIOS button, so you can update the BIOS first without installing anything, if needed.

Flash BIOS Button: Simply use a USB key to flash any BIOS within seconds, without installing a CPU, memory or graphics card.

If the board was manufactured recently you should be able to build and test the PC before doing a BIOS update, if you even need one.
