Unrelated news, but I finally finished The Messenger. I enjoyed the first the half pretty well, hated the midpoint boss, and aside from some metroidvania backtracking/trying to figure out what to do next, only a few other places of irritation. I ended up a few times just putting it down for the night, but that mid point boss and a particular series of rooms damn near made me quit outright.

Overall, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an old school style action platformer. Outside that one sequence of rooms, and that one boss fight... there's nothing that really forces you into platforming that's too ridiculous, and you can buy hints that just straight up tell you exactly where to go.

 

Kind of a shame, I'll have to find something else to play for a week or two. I don't think Escapists is going to pique my interest all that much.
