Is the asus prime b360m-a able to use a GTX 1660?

I’m considering upgrading from my GTX 1060 3 gig card to the GTX 1660. Is it possible with my current motherboard? It’s an Asus prime b360m-a

I don't think the jump from a GTX 1060 to a GTX 1660 justifies the money spending at all.

That said, yes it is "compatible" any PCI-e card is... just make sure your PSU is good too.

Well what would justify it?

A 5700 XT for example,

The thing is that the performance difference isn't big enough to make it worth the investment in a brand new 1660.

For example i buy every 4-5 years the best $200 card,My last purchase was the R9 380 4GB,My overclocked 1660 is more than double the performance of my old R9 380,so in my case it was worth the investment in a brand new 1660.

As your current card is only 3gb on modern titles you would likely see a large increase. But I would go for the 1660 super over the 1669

Is that a new card? (With Nvidia releasing a new card or more every month who knows :P)

The GTX 1669 ?

I am just joking hehehe

Don't upgrade to a GTX 1660, save your money and get a RTX 2060 when you can. Much bigger difference in specs.

edit: now that I realize it, I don't think a b360m can handle a RTX card.

My Build (5800X3D, RTX 3070)

disclaimer: i probably don't know what I'm talking about but I try to give the best advice I can

Or you could choose the 1660 and go for an overclocking adventure to surpass the 1660 Ti like i did ? (Honestly i bought the 1660 before the Super was a thing)

I succeeded in my overclocking adventure to the point that in Far Cry 5 benchmark i almost beat the 2060 (That's a very rare case of my OCed 1660 getting close to the 2060)

In other games my card is just a bit better than the 1660 Ti :P

Yeah sounds like you just got lucky!

but no point going for the 1660 when the price difference to a super is small and you can just oc a super
