You could they aren't very power hungry. If your motherboard is good enough then great. My general advice is buy the headphone run off your motherboard if it's not loud enough or you hear alot of electrical noise  then buy a dac/amp my suggestion would be the fiio k5 pro. And in terms of mic if your not streaming a blue snowball should serve almost anyone perfectly

One advantage some of these USB "gaming" headsets have is the ability to hear yourself on the mic in the headphones.  Because of this I bought the USB dongle for the Logitech G430, but not the headphones.  The USB dongle has analog jacks that you can plug your headphones into and your mic.  My on-board audio wasn't nearly as low latency as the USB dongle is.

What do you think of these headphones for pop, easy listening, and 80s and 90s music? These look pretty good as well so I am trying to decide between the mmx 300 and Akg 371

Both will do a great jobat that. I personally love how Beyers sound and for gaming they are my fist pick in my personal collection  so out of the 2 I would prob end up getting the mmx 300. But the akg is great too just not as good for gaming.

I will probably go with the mmx 300 then. The 2nd gen is the one I am planning on getting.
