Spilled water on PC

So my gf placed an open container of water on my desk (which is not a stable desk) and when I bumped into my desk the water proceeded to just empty into my PC. The video started to tear but went back to normal, I powered down and unplugged my PC. After 2 days of removing drying and rebuilding my PC it wont turn on. So I'm thinking okay something is shorted and I may have to replace but what's bugging me with this is that I cant find out what needs to be replaced. The power supply is putting out power so I'm thinking okay it's the motherboard but when I look at the motherboard its LED is on and shifting colors like normal. The GPU I'm not worried about at this moment but does anyone have any idea what in the system may be damaged cause I'm stumped. Motherboard is a ASUS ROG Strix B450F and the power supply is a EVGA 700B w/ 80+Bronze

I am so sorry to be the one to tell you this.  It's probably fu**ed.  Without seeing exactly what got wet I can't really help you further.  Likely you already have corrosion, shorted traces, damaged components, possibly more.  Unless you know someone that does board level diagnostics and repair I'd say start saving for a new system.  And if any water got in that PSU you might as well toss that too.  It may be putting out power but the voltages may be off or may not be able to be maintained due to damaged ICs or other components.  I've seen bad PSUs ruin other components.

LOL harsh but true... firm but fair...  You bricked your system I know mobo is botched CPU can be botched video card can be botched.  If your not getting a post then its time for a new motherboard you nuked it along with other things possibly like PSU or CPU or RAM or video card.    Your going to have to change mobo and possibly PSU then test the parts like the CPU and RAM and video card.  But there is no way your motherboard survived this horrid freak accident.

Google - Bread Board a PC and follow the instructions to figure out where the hardware fault lies.  Start with jump starting your PSU to ensure it works, and move on down the line.

how did you dried up parts? did you dissembled everything, i mean, did you removed cpu from the socket?

 

otherwise you didn't dried up the pc

 

ram and gpu are likely to survive i you dried them well after the accident and this includes removing part and drying past and also the slow where it was connected, cpu is a 50/50 depending if you turned it on and still had water in it

 

motherboard is likely dead, but tests won't harm it more i guess

 

the psu, that is the problem, if it still turns on, but no idea if it is delivering power properly, i would replace it, just to be sure

It's toast.

 

Like water damage is one of those "creeping damage" type of problems where even if it works, eventually it does not.

 

If you have a tower that his vertically mounted, the water likely poured onto the top-most PCIe card (the GPU), and then into the PSU. You might be able to save the CPU/MB/RAM if it didn't pool on the GPU, but at this point I would treat it as completely toast.
