Will my original Xbox work with this hard drive?

so ive heared that the OS of an original Xbox is stored somewhere on the motherbaord itself, and that the hard drive inside of it is just for data storage. Now the original hard drive that was inside of it is broken, but ive only got hard drivers that have SATA data and power ports. so im thinking of buying an IDE to SATA converter, but will that work on the Xbox?

I think the internal drives of the original xbox were serial coded to the motherboard. Unless you are going to modify it, I dont think it will work.

not planning to modifdy it, i just want to ge the thing to work again after so many years and im hoping that itll even boot
