MSI RX 470 Armor OC DVI-D to VGA and HDMI to VGA Active adapters not working

UBoF

Hello.

I have an RX 470 armor oc 4gb. It has 1 HDMI port, 1 DVI-D Dual link port, 2x display port. Problem is I have an HDTV at 1080p 60hz. When I use an HDMI cable, the output is too sharp and seems like the problem is with the tv so I am using VGA. I bought 2 ACTIVE adapters, 1 DVD-D DL to VGA and 1 HDMI to VGA however, none of them works. If I use HDMI cable there is output on Monitor. I plan to buy a DP Port to VGA Active adapter however, I am not sure if it will work as well.

Any advise?

Just use HDMI. There is no reason to use VGA

Hi. Thanks for the reply,

If I use HDMI cable, the display is so ugly and over sharpened, colors are washed out. this is a problem with the TV itself EDID-related issue. So I have no choice but to use VGA Input.

Have you tried adjusting settings?

I did. I tried all settings in the tv. I also tried using different gpus with HDMI on my hdtv and they are the same. Only option is to use VGA Adapter with an active adapter. problem is my rx 470 doesn't support them.

I have a gtx 750 from msi as well and its ports are vga, hdmi and Dual-link DVI-D. this is the same with my rx 470 but the dvi d adapter works on gtx 750 but not on rx 470.
