Cpu is getting too hot!

Welcome to the forums!

Generally your hardware is safe below 85C. It varies from generation to generation, but almost every CPU and GPU has built-in protections that either throttles (slows down) the chip or turns it off in order to stay below 90 degrees - that's when it starts to get dangerous.

If you want a solution that's quieter and will keep your CPU temps and your worries low, you can grab something for cheap. Just make sure it's got heat pipes, like this one.

My pc specs are:

  • Cpu: i3 4150 (3.5 ghz),
  • Gpu: gtx 1050 ti
  • Mobo: msi h81m-e33
  • Psu: cooler master gx 450
  • 120 gb intel ssd, 500 gb external hd
  • Ram: 8 gb g-skill
  • 1080p viewsonic monitor

My problem is, I play games and also record them, Recently while playing resident evil 2(remake) my cpu temperature goes 70-80 degree celsius and stays like that, I record it for 1 hour, Is it harmful for my pc if i do that everyday?

(Note: it happens while playing triple-A games released in last two years, apart from those all other games are fine, temperature remains 50-55 degree)
