Smallest Drive you can install in a ps4.

SukaroBlue

I'm thinking of ordering an external hard drive enclosure so I can use one of my spare hard drives as external storage for my xbox one. Unfortunately the biggest hard drive I have is a 500GB drive. That is unless I count the terabyte drive in my ps4. So I was thinking of taking the drive out of it and using as external storage for my xbox sense I barely use my ps4. Unfortunately the biggest 2.5 drive I have is a 250GB drive and I'm not sure my ps4 will take it. So I'm wondering if I can install a 250GB drive in my ps4?

Error 404 humor not found.

Pretty sure the smallest allowed is 500GB.

250GB will be fine. I think the minimum is 120GB for PS4. I swapped out the 160GB drive from my PS3 into my PS4 so I could install my entire PS3 digital library at once (since installing games is super slow on PS3 but fast on PS4) and my PS4 worked same as before with the old 160GB drive installed.
