Here is benchie comparison Zen 2 16c vs Intel i9 16c done at show or party.  Ryzen wins and not only it wins, it wins at 749 dollars compared to the 1700 dollar 9960x.

 

You have to be a fool not to switch from Intel to AMD.  1000 bucks more and it loses the benchies.  That is a no brainer.

I think you lack the underlying foundational understanding of how competition, marketing and economics work.  While I am happy that AMD is increasing its product lines and entering into a much more competitive space... there are so many other factors involved that will affect consumers over the new few years and decade. 

 

It's a marathon not a sprint.

That 7960X run at Y-cruncher really sucks. Poking more into it, there is exactly one submission for it with that CPU on hwbot. For all we know, the guy who ran it was at stock. The submitter was using an AIO on the CPU, declared 2.8 GHz, screenshot appears to show 4.5 GHz. I really don't think it was running 4.5 GHz without something melting.

I have a theory that 16 core on Intel was never popular so there are no good results for it. If you had money for 16 cores, you'd have money for the 18 core. 18 cores, 4 GHz, water cooled.
