What cpu should I use?

Hey,

I was thinking of building a new pc and I don't know what cpu I should use - amd or intel. Could you guys recommend?

Intel for 120hz or higher refresh rate and if you only game. Amd for everything else. Or just wait for ryzen 3rd gen.

8700K @ 5.2ghz 1.29V, 4x8 Rev.E @ 4040 13-20-20-39 1.7V.

Wait for Zen2, wich is released in less than 3 Weeks and get one of those...

depends on what kind of GPU and monitor you're using

what is the total budget?

 

 

atm it looks like waiting for Zen 2 is the right choice for most budgets.

That’s a false statement regarding if more than 60fps. 

 

Also, if the figures given by amd are actually correct, intel won’t be superior in gaming anymore.

I was talking about 2nd ryzen vs 9th gen intel. I mentioned at the end to just wait for ryzen 3rd gen.

But many here including myself have zen+ CPU’s and I get waay over 60fps.. so again, false statement regarding the 60fps part

I was referring to 144hz+ gaming.

So then say that lol. I mean it also depends if gaming on 1080p or 1440p. 

1440p is GPU bound, where’s 1080p it’s mostly the CPU. (And in that case, yes at the moment, intel wins)

 

really hope that the figures given by AMD are correct and we finally have a true competitor at a much lower price point.
