Monitor Flickering after Overclocked.

Hey everyone, so I overclocked my 60hz monitor to 73hz on 1080p display and 75hz at 1280x1024 resolution using CRU, but I noticed that my screen is flickering sometimes when playing CSGO using the 1280x1024 resolution (I use stretch), so I was just curious about the flickering, will it damage my monitor? also on the 1080p using 73hz, no flickering has been going on at all, the flickering only happens at the 1280x1024 display, also I think it only flickers when I'm playing CSGO.

unstable overclock, reduce Hz

But does unstable overclock means it can damage my monitor?
