Although not able to 100% confirm for the armor card, MSI has generally always used .5mm thick pads on the memory chips.

Hi,

The Thermal Pads on this card you are showing GTX 1070 Armor OC are 1.0 and 1.5mm; you can pickup a pair of digital calipers at any hardware store pretty cheap to take the guess work out of it; and or not depend on second hand information on the internet; this is in no way intended to be a dis or a dig on anyone providing information in good faith; it is simply a suggested 100% solution going forward;  OwlTree has a good quality three pack of 100mmx100mm of 0.5mm, 1.0mm, 1.5mm thermal pad rated at 12.8W/mK for around $13.99 which would be perfect for this gpu, and you could use the rest on a cpu, ic, ssd, led cooler, fpga or pi4 as well ..  alternatively you could also use on the cheap the Outus 30pcs pack, 67 x 20mm "re-useable" for $9.99 <--- I use these on 10 series and some AMD Cards; and the OwlTree when I do complete rebuilds on RTX 20 and 30 series cards that I have run through and Ultrasonic Cleaner in a Flux Off solution cut 10:1, 10 Series Cards can be run through an Ultrasonic Cleaner using Windex and they come out perfect; and I have returned some DOA's back to full; or near full service life.

Addendum:  The Three pads stuck to the heat sink are 1.5mm, ( blue dots ), the others around the main wafer is 1.0mm; ( red dots ), everything else; two long thin strips, and small squares sprinkled around the card are also 1.5mm

hope this helps!
