Bottlenecks

I watched a video on a custom build and two 2080 ‘tis in a I9 9900K system we’re being held back by the 9900K because it was bottlenecking. What CPU should I go for that won’t cause that problem?

What is your use case? If gaming what games and what resolution are you running?

That would GREATLY depend on what you want to do with the system. The i9 9900k is a super fast processor, but so are 2 2080's. However, not everything works well in NVLink. I have noticed that when it comes to benchmarks in 3dMark software that the best scores are with a i9 7980xe, but that is just so that they can get the best CPU score, which will inherently increase their combined score. One the other hand, a 7980xe would not be as good as a 9900k in games because of the better performance per core. Again, back to the "what do you want to do with the system" question.

Depends. 

It’s pretty much going to be a workstation, solely built for faster preformance when it comes to rendering videos and recording and playing games at max settings at 1440P with high frame rates. I just want to make a beast system with no compromises.
