a laptop for school and some gaming.

I'm looking for a laptop that's somewhat light, has a decent battery life, and has enough power for light gaming and editing. Like blender and sony vegas. Maybe some light graphic design art. Like Gimp. budget is about $650 to $700. I was looking at the newer "Acer Nitro 5 Ryzen version" for about $540ish at Best Buy.

my maximum budget is $700. I really only need it to be able to start the projects. Then I can use my main rig at that point to finish the project.

Well a thin and light would be nice but ill take the best performance at the range. As for battery if im not using it heavy i want it to be able to last at least a typical school day if possible which is about 7hr.

Like i said gaming will actually not be a big use on this laptop i just need the performance if i need to render a project.

If you need >7 hrs battery life at this price range, gaming laptop isn't a choice
