Windows OS on ps4

Hello, I have been wondering for a while if it is possible to get windows installed on a ps4. If anyone could help please do.

No. A PS4 runs whatever OS sony designed it to run on. You simply can't get windows running on one.

Yes, I have 9 monitors.

My main PC (Hybrid Windows 10/Arch Linux):

OS: Arch Linux w/ XFCE DE (VFIO-Patched Kernel) as host OS, windows 10 as guest

CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X w/PBO on (6c 12t for host, 6c 12t for guest)

Cooler: Noctua NH-D15

Mobo: Asus X470-F Gaming

RAM: 32GB G-Skill Ripjaws V @ 3200MHz (12GB for host, 20GB for guest)

GPU: Guest: EVGA RTX 3070 FTW3 ULTRA Host: 2x Radeon HD 8470

Details: 12GB ram, GTX 1080, USB card passed through to windows 10 VM. VM's OS drive is the SATA SSD. Rest of resources are for Plex, Duplicati, Spaghettidetective, Nextcloud, and game servers.

In theory if hackers could get Linux installed on it, they might get Windows installed on it. But here's the thing and this may shock you: the PS4 is not actually a PC compliant system. You can't install a PC compatible Linux distro on a PS4 because the OS is expecting things that the PS4 doesn't have. It's mostly legacy features though, and why would a PS4 need things from an IBM 5150?  So if Windows is expecting the same things that a PC compatible Linux distro is expecting, then it won't work. And unlike Linux, you likely can't fix Windows to make it work. Though I guess in theory you can run Linux on a PS4, then run a VM to run Windows.

 

But remember, just because it uses an x86 processor doesn't make it a PC.
