upgrade should i upgrade or not ?

hey guys

 

I am thinking about upgrading my pc because i think it is time for some new parts.

I mainly use my pc for gaming @ 1440p 60 hz, but i want to upgrade to 1440p 144 hz in the future

photography is also a hobby of mine so i will also be using my pc to edit some photo's in adobe photoshop.

I myself would prefer even higher frequency memory (3000/3200MHz CL16) and MSI B450 boards. Even Asrock makes better boards (for the same price) than Asus or Gigabyte.

I would go with 3000Mhz RAM for Ryzen. Also, R5 2600 for 144Hz 1440p is iffy. I would go with i5 8600k/9600k if I could.

Seems like a good plan, but depends on what you're focusing on.

 

Any modern i5 equivalent CPU worth it's salt will be a good upgrade, but you want to try to squeeze the most out of this upgrade to prevent having to come back and upgrade again later. If you go ryzen, try to stretch for the 2700 or 2700X. If not, get an 8600k or try to stretch the extra for an 8700k.

 

You'll get better single-core (gaming) performance from an 8600k, but the 2700 will give you a nice boost for your photo editing. I'd recommend the 8600k outright, but I'm a bit of an Intel purist so take that as you may.

1440p/144 Hz gaming is in the domain of the 2080 Ti still, so unless you're ready to drop that type of money, I wouldn't think about that too much right now.

 

At 60 Hz, the 2600 is fine. 144 Hz gets hard because it's just hard in general. You'd really need at least a 8600k with a decent OC before it's really viable. (144 Hz in modern games really needs clocks above 4.5 Ghz, which is where 1st & 2nd Gen Ryzen comes up short.) Also, given your Photoshop mention.

That's the direction I'd recommend, but PCPartPicker also has a real lack of sellers in your country listed. I'm sure RAM can be had for cheaper.

okay lets forget about it, maybe in a few years with a complete new build.

the LEDs are nice but i dont care much for rgb inside my case, so i think i can find some cheaper RAM indeed.

 

 

i made this post to orientate myself for my upgrade, and you guys helped me alot,

i think ill save up some more money and upgrade to the 8600k with faster RAM in a few months

Tbh, corsair vengeance is priced pretty reasonably. In USD, there's a $20 difference between the RGB and non-RGB models.

Keep in mind, the 8600k is on a different socket type than that of your current cpu, so you will be needing a new mobo as well.
