I tried to install Steam on my rasp berry pi and followed this tutorial: https://pimylifeup.com/raspberry-pi-steam-client/ When I run it I get a terminal window telling me I need to install some packages so I click return to install them and it says that a few of them cannot be found. I then ran it again and I get an error saying 'libc.so.6 is missing.' I have tried manually installing the packages but it does not work. Screenshots are attached below.

Greetings, forum members! I have a machine that regularly saves files to a USB when in use. I'm intrigued by the idea of incorporating a board (e.g., Raspberry Pi Zero W or ESP8266/ESP32) that can act as a USB storage device, capable of wirelessly transferring the saved files directly to my PC or Synology NAS. The PC/NAS would be connected over Wi-Fi to the board. I've been researching options and potential DIY solutions for this wireless file transfer setup. If any of you have experience with similar projects or know of any existing solutions that can achieve this, I would greatly appreciate your insights and recommendations. I inserted my SD card into the Raspberry pi b+ and tried to get it to boot. It has proper power delievery and the hdmi also works well. The rainbow booting screen at first pops actually up, but then this appears. I dont know how to fix it. I also tried a variety of diffrent OS to see if that was the issue. For the error codes please look at the picture. Id be very thankful if anyone could help me

Hi, guys, I am rocking Raspberry PI 4B as print server with CUPS. Bought it 2 years ago for a normal price it was something like 40 euro. Now I have a need for another, print server in another office, I can get new in 40 weeks for the same 41 euro or on ebay for like 150 euro. Do you guys have any suggestions on other boards, I can use for a print server? Preferably with 4 usb ports and in the range of 50 euro. I am looking to buy Banana Pi M2. Maybe you guys have some other suggestion? -
I tried installing sudo apt install cpu-frequtils via this post but Pi coudn't find the package. I want to Limit the CPU frequency to reduce hear output, I added a large heatsink for passive cooling. But I also want to test out if reducing the frequency helps, because all im doing is uploading/downloading stuff from and to my External HDD attached to the Pi as I use it as a NAS. Thanks -
So I was trying to make a Smartmirror as a gift and the instructions I was following as a guide were giving me steps out of order and I ended up unmounting the apparmor somehow and now it won't let me boot to desktop, only to CML. I've tried running "sudo raspi-config" command to tell it to boot to desktop under user Pi, but it will not do it. Any help will be appreciated.

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening, Recently, we setup a Unifi camera system at home, and I commissioned an old server to use as the Unifi Video controller for it, however, as of the end of 2020, Ubiquity ended support for Unifi Video, and because of this, you can't view the cameras off of the network without using a VPN, which is a problem. I've found a reddit post from about a year ago from u/SubBass100, where he was able to get it running on a Nvidia Jetson Nano, and someone else was able to get it installed on a Raspberry Pi 4 running Ubuntu (what I'm currently running). After adding the keyserver and the repository, when I try installing Unifi Protect, I get the following error: unifi-protect : Depends nodejs (< 9.0) but 12.18.2~dfsg-1ubuntu2 is to be installed or nsolid-carbon but it is not installable : Depends postgresql (<= 10.5) but 12+216 is to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. I have the latest versions of nodejs and postgresql client installed, but I still get this error. Hey LTT, I have working ubuntu 20.10 server on my raspberry pi 4 (4gb ram). I tried to setup docker container with lancache, but container is in restarting loop and doesnt work. Can someone help me to fix that? I am noob in using docker and ubuntu, so let me know what should I post.

Hello, so I tried to setup PiVPN on my raspberry pi zero. I got it installed and configured completely. But at the final stage, which is creating a config file for your clients, I have been unsuccessful with getting the file off the Pi. I initially tried the scp command, but I either had directory issues or did not have permission. I tried to do it manually by booting up a Linux Mint VM and plugging in my micro SD card, but I could not copy the file off the VM or upload it to a cloud service due to not having "permission". There were also error messages saying the drive was not mounted, even though the SD card shows up on the desktop of my VM? So yeah, if I can't send the file over SSH and I can manually copy the file off the Pi....what can I do? Seems like a whole lot of nothing. Thanks. -
Hello! I’ve got a Raspberry Pi 4 which is configured as an SMB file server. It hosts my Plex Media library and personal documents I don’t want in the cloud. Its used by Windows, macOS, and iOS devices. It’s been working good so far however today I attempted to put a 22GB file and ran into the file size limit for exFAT (16GB). So with that in mind I know there are multiple other Linux file systems. Is there any file system that will give me read/write compatibility with macOS, iOS, and Windows 10 with a larger file size limit?

I am making this thread to get some pointers on a personal project of mine, I made a little documentation to make it less intimidating but I still got no clue where to start. My question, is there a more simpler way to do what I am doing? or how would you do it? I am trying to get more ideas, I never messed with a micro computer prior to this and this whole thing is supposed to a trip down learning lane

Hey LTT-Crew! Nowadays there are many Cloud Gaming platforms. Being blessed with an old but still strong computer, I want to assume those possible comforts in my home. My setup is my PC (debian bullseye) and a Raspberry Pi 4 (4GB) connected via (m)HDMI to my TV. Both are wired up in 1Gbit. What I'm trying to do is to stream Games from my PC to the RPI4, i.e. to the TV. I know the RPI is capable of playing 4k videos, so I thought a 1080p game can't be too hard when the PC does the calculations. The road so far: - RDP -> Works better than expected, but not good enough to reach the "acceptable"-mark. - X11 -> completely fluent for everything but gaming and videos - Steam -> Quality-wise exactly what I'm looking for, but it has the downside off mirroring the screen. This is somewhat important as I would like for the PC to be usable while I'm playing. So in essence, I'm looking for something between X11 and Steam's remote play. I'm looking forward to read your ideas!

I don't need anything complicated, I just want, on every boot, these 2 lines to be executed pihole -up qbitorrent all the tutorials just points to a .py script, which I dont even need. While we're here, I'd also like to know if adding sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y to every boot is a good idea. If so I'd also like to add it as the 3rd line Thanks.

Hi I currently have 8 analogue CCTV cameras that connect to a hikvision DVR. I want to remove this DVR from the equation. 1 for security purposes, 2 to apply machine learning smart intrusion detection and better way to acces the streams and view streams. I have a spare raspberry pi and thought that I could use this as a DVR. The cameras use BNC connectors. All tutorials on the internet so far have only showed people using the raspberry pi as the camera. OK, quick question, what am I missing here. The other day my wireguard vpn connection worked fine. Didn't make any changes to it since then. Today had a problem with my router resetting to a different IP address for LAN, sorted that out, checked that port forwarding is still set up ok for the wireguard vpn. Can't figure out why it's not connecting... I am using 4g connection on my phone with wireguard turned on as usual. I checked that duckdns has updated the IP address for the dynDNS. Thought I'd ask here to see if it's something obvious I'm missing.

I am having a hard time wrapping my head around how exactly field of view works in terms of a camera. From what makes sense to me, the field of view would be for the camera itself during a still image and then video would be taken from pieces of that. For an 8 megapixel camera, the picture size will 3280x2464 pixels. Of course, the most common video resolutions are 1080p, 720p, or 480p. (1920x1080, 1280x720, 640x480) I have attached a picture that describes how I imagine field of view works, is anyone more familiar on this topic that could shed some light for me? I have an arducam raspberry pi camera advertised at 175 degree field of view, the horizontal and vertical resolution is 96 dpi, and the bit depth is 24. I want to know what the field of view is of each video recording resolution. Thank you!

When using the raspberry Pi's I notices that setting the hostname inside the imager allows access from any other devices on the network. So for example: Means I can go to http://lul/ in my browser and if I have an application on port 80 it just works. I'm wondering how this config is done internally and what would need to be done on a normal linux install to replicate this functionality?

I just bought the Raspberry Pi 3B and installed on a 16 GB SD-Card Raspbian - as soon as I boot it, there are following messages: Doing full Raspbian OS 32 Bit and got following errors at booting: systemd[95]: Failed to wait for /usr/lib/systemd/system-generators/systemd-bless-boot-generate: No chilf processes systemd[95]: /usr/lib/systemd/system-generators/systemd-sysv-generator terminated by singal ABRT systemd[1]: (sd-executer) terminated by signal ABRT. systemd[1] Caught <ABRT>, core dump failed (child 104, code=killed, status=6/ABRT) systemd[1]: Freezing execution. After I unplug the Cable and put it back in --> systemd[92]: /usr/lib/systemd/system-generators/systemd-gpt-auto-generator terminated by signal SEGV. systemd[1]: Caught <SEGV>, core dump failed (child 106, code=killed, status=11/SEGV) systemd[1]: Freezing execution. Anyone with some ideas?

Home assistant gives instructions for using a raspberry pi 4, or alternatively pi 3, when setting things up. I on the other hand have a old original raspberry pi model b, rev. 2.0; a bluetooth dongle; an ethernet cable; and a can do attitude ... Just checking if this route is even a possibility or if I'd be better off converting some other old x86 system to do the job, (since it doesn't seem like I'll be getting a newer pi for anything less than my right kidney.) -
I am trying out a new fiber connection so I have both new and old net connections. Its called Jio Fiber. The new (jio) router that has light converter build in so I can't not use it, but the old one had a seperate converted allowing me to use any router (tp link). Jio router uses 192.168.29.1 as subnet, instead of 192.168.0.1 by tplink. Previously I had my pi's ip reserved in the tp link router to 192.168.0.175 which works fine. Problem is I don't see the pi in the clients list, when I do see it I can't connect to it. I've also noticed, the mac address of same device are different in both routers, so I can't use the same mac. I have use Advance IP Scanner ss below. It's probably the ...29.7 one, as only 3 clients are connected to the router. 29.7 doesn't show up on the router's lan clients page tho. Im confused.
