Hello everyone, I am looking for some guidelines on how to perform hardware diagnostic test for a high-end PC. The issue i am having is with counter-strike 2. Its constantly crashing ingame. Like every 2-3 Minutes. The Steam-Support looked at the crash-log of the game and could not identify anything wrong with cs2 and they advised me that its related to my pc hardware. Something might be broken there. I will attache the Response from Steam-Support as a screesnhot. This problem seems to be only with cs 2, every other game i play like Grid Legends, Forza Horizon 5, Cyberpunk 2077, FarCry 6 don't have any random mid-game crashes. How can i perform Hardware diagnostic test from home. If the possibility is limited, just let me know and i will look for a local IT support in my city. I unmounted the ram sticks and blew out any potential dust on the sockets as well ram sticks it self. i inserted them again started the pc and turn on Windows memory diagnostic again its been about 10 mins and ni problems found right now . I Will let it run and finish and probably do a mem86 test aswell. but of everything clears should i do a clean Windows install again after or is it fine with out ? Hello guys I am an student in "RVT" trying to get a certificate in IT technician. One of my works for now is to make a essay about each part of pc and how to test it, troubleshoot and stress test. Now I need to make a table full of possible defects for each component and how that was introduced and how to get rid of it, for an example for GPU - blown caps, miss handling, manufacturing problem, burned dye from over volting, damaged power connector, snapped pcb, GPU not detected by windows, can see artefacts on screen, not running on all possible speed, crashed windows and so the list goes on and on. so can you help me and cal all posible defects for - CPU, Motherboard, GPU, RAM, PSU, HHD, SSD, SSHD and CD-ROM my work as far as it is for now (it is in Latvian) - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_VN1fzhcq6CQjItRlM3OG85M1U/view?usp=sharing

My desktop has started "locking up" by which I mean, everything freezes except the mouse pointer (although I am unable to click on anything or even bring up the task manager). This seems to happen when trying to close programs/windows, and the only way to get rid of it is to restart the computer. I am running the latest version of windows 10, just updated with the big security patch. Can anyone suggest what might be going on/causing this, or even how to go about troubleshooting it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hello everyone, I am sorry to be bothering you with my problems. I searched for quite a bit but i couldn't find anything purely related to what i am experiencing, so this is why i am making this thread. What my problem is : There is quite a bit of screen-tearing on my new 144hz monitor. Moving my mouse in counterstrike, for example, feels butter-smooth, but when i slow down to moving my mouse a couple of cm at a time or moving in-game (aka objects on screen moving at a reasonably slow pace), i can see that there is quite a lot of screen tearing. So much so that i cannot play the game. The game feels choppy because when i move around, close by objects are clearly choppy due to screen tearing and it just feels unresponsive, having buttery-smooth camera movement from the mouse alongside a choppy world. What i have done to test this : I tested it around with different resolutions, different hadrware, different framerates, vsync on and off, different monitor settings, different games and compared it to a 60hz monitor. Since i mostly tested this in Counter-Strike, ill write what the results are, but i opened up dota 2 and it was kind of visible there too. I am getting 280-320fps in counter-strike and i've tried maxing it out to 60,120,144 via a console command, ive tried putting on vsync, i tried doing the same on my laptop and the tearing seems to be there all the time. I can't notice any bothersome tearing @ 60hz on my other monitor with 300fps, yet i can notice a fair bit of it on this new 144hz one. I recorded it slow mo (120fps) with my phone and it is tearing. I tried the HDMI port via my laptop and the DP port via my PC. What i am here for : I dont know how to even precisely explain what the problem is, but it seems to me that it is a monitor problem. How do i diagnose the problem and check if it is a game/hardware problem or if it is the monitor that is at fault? My GPU on my PC is totally dying, but its still pumping out these frames and i did test it with my laptop too.... You can watch the following videos i took with my phone (yes, i know that the quality is terrible, but you gotta do what you gotta do with what you have) : You can put them on 0.25x speed to see it better, i dont have these fancy phantom cameras with 10000fps ;( Thank you in advance for taking your time to read through my problem!

I have a Dell (Model# TTYFJA00 I think) laptop with a boot issue. The issue is that when the machine is cold booted or restarted, it boots into Dell's "ePSA Pre-Boot System Assessment (4302.10)" BIOS diagnostic utility. Letting this utility run never finds any issues or errors. If i hold F12 during boot and manually boot to the drive, Windows 10 boots as normal. Here's what I have tried thus far: - Letting the diagnostic utility run its course (never finds anything wrong) - Switching startup method in windows to 'normal' - Re-seated power button ribbon cable (I read somewhere that non-keyboard button presses can cause the diagnostic to come up) - Reinstalled windows 10 - Disabled/Enabled secure boot (I read on a Dell forum that sometimes secure boot doesn't play nice after a windows update) - Verified the partition in which windows is installed is marked as 'active' - Reseated drive and RAM - Reset BIOS to default settings - Updated BIOS to most recent version - Setting the hard disk as the only boot option - Swapped the HHD for a known good SSD with windows 10 installed - Verified CPU fans are spinning - Tested with compatible charger - Tested with/wthout battery installed Would love any and all reccomendations you can provide, I'm getting really frustrated with this...

So, my pc was running fine and playing Monster Hunter World when suddenly my monitor doesn't have a signal anymore. Since i can't do anything even when i switched my HDMI to onboard graphics it still doesnt show up (audio was cut off after the signal loss as well). So, i was forced to turn it off by holding the power button. When i tried turning it back on, it doens't even go to the BIOS, but all connection in the motherboard like case USB, fans, graphics card fans, and motherboard lights are still on and functional and can give power to external pheripherals like the backlit keyboard attached. Is my CPU broken or is it the motherboard? I've tried removing the CMOS battery as well. I'm running MSI z97 Gaming 3 motherboard and a core i3-4160. Could someone enlighten me on what's the problem so i can get replacement parts. I appreciate it.

Hey guys, I bought a new CPU (i7 4790k) and somehow my Windows can't boot anymore. It works fine with the old one (i5 4670). A technician I adked about it told me to reinstall windows and test RAM with MemTest86. I couldn't install it new because even .iso won't boot from USB stick correctly and I get a windows error message (every time a different one). Do I now started the MemTest86 because in BIOS sometimes it just displayed 0MB instead of 16GB and somehow it stuck at 75% at 1/4 pass in test 9. Can someone tell me what's the problem here? I don't get it why it works fine with i5 and i7 not. A lot of people had the problem with the CPU - Mainboard (MSI Z87 G43) combination, but there must be a way to keep it running because the newest drivers support that CPU. Thanks for any help.

So I have an official solution for the Debug Error code 07 on post. YES it is a RAM related issue. I struggled with this problem for a week before I came to a realization. So let me tell you the trouble steps I took. So here's the issue I was running into: First, The specs of my brand new build: Ryzen 7 3800x Wraith Prism (Stock heatsink for the CPU) MSI MEG x570 Ace (Don't get me wrong, yes it's MSI but the debug codes I think are all the same) 32GB DDR4 3600 G.Skill TridentZ Neo RGB (2x16GB) AMD PowerColor Red Devil 5700xt ThermalTake ToughPower Grand 80+ Gold 750w 1TB Inland m.2 Gen4 drive Windows 10 64-bit Pro 1st Bios to Newest Bios (tested each one for flaws/issues) The issue I was running into: As I built the system, I put my RAM into A2/B2 slots according to the Mainboard Manual specifications for Dual Channel operation. Hooking everything else up and turning the system on for the first time, the Debug LCD went through a variety of debug codes quite fast then paused at 07, went through more codes, stopped at 07 and the diagnostic LED for the DRAM next to the 24pin power port on the mainboard was on as well. System would not boot or complete the post. Steps took towards resolution I obviously did some research online for a week straight to find no help whatsoever in solving the problem. The advice I got from doing my due diligence and researching the hell out of the Debug Error 07 code, I found the below answers. It's a RAM issue, right? So it's OBVIOUSLY Bad Ram. This IS a possibility, but if you've already tried the below steps, read on. It was NOT my solution. RAM Issue: So swapped out the RAM, right? Of course I did. Did I check the QVL compatibility list for my mobo, Of course I did. 100% compatible. 1) I tried swapping the ram from A2/B2 to A1/B1. STILL no post. 2) I tried SWAPPING THE ram modules to A1/A2, HOLY sh*t It posted and booted no problems! Well, one problem existed now. IT WAS ONLY SINGLE CHANNEL!!!!! Which means my ram was running at 2133Mhz instead of 3600Mhz. This is a NO GO. 3) Just for sh*ts and giggles and for further diagnostic testing, I swapped the RAM to B1/B2 slots, It's a Code 07 again with the DRAM Diagnostic LED on. 4) The system had no problems or crashes or stutters running on A1/A2 in single channel, so I didn't think it was the ram, but the easiest resolution was to swap out the ram at the store, so I did. STILL the exact same issue. No Post/Boot and Code 07 with the Diagnostic LED for DRAM on. The DRAM diagnostic LED was still on, the Post code on the LCD display was still 07, no post/boot. Couldn't get past 07 or the DRAM led with the new RAM either or forced to run in single channel only, which was not gonna be acceptable. So if it's not the RAM and the mobo is having the exact same issue with the new ram in every step, it MUST be the Mainboard, right? It's a VERY Good possibility, but again STILL not the solution for me. Here's the steps I took for the mobo: 1) I swapped out the mobo, plugged in all the cables. flashed the firmware using the Flashback USB port. 2) I repeated all the steps in the RAM testing above with the new pair of RAM modules. I got the exact same results as above. So What the HECK! If it's not the RAM and it's not the motherboard, what else is there? It's a RAM issue, right? So it's gotta be EITHER the RAM modules themselves or the Ram slots on the motherboard are bad, right? Well, read on. After doing some more research, I discovered that the "MEMORY CONTROLLER" is built onboard the CPU of the newer Intel and AMD CPU's... Could it be? Could it possibly be that the Memory Controller on the CPU itself is bad and that is why the B-Channel of my RAM slots would never function and would prevent the system from booting/posting successfully? Infact, the answer to this question is YES!!! A Resounding YES!!! I swapped out my Brand new (week old) Ryzen 7 3800x with a brand new one exchanged at the store and all my problems are GONE!! System works flawlessly, I now have my RAM working not only at 3600Mhz but they're overclocked to 4400Mhz with no issues whatsoever. I know this is an older post, but it's one of the first that pops up on google and apparently this problem still exists from time to time, so I wanted others to be able to see it, whether you run a Gigabyte, Asus, ASRock, MSI board, etc...Hopefully I can help put this problem to rest for a LOT of people. Now granted, I speak of B-Channel slots only because that was MY case scenario. In all honesty, If the Memory controller of the CPU is bad/defective or goes bad along the way, It can cause any variety of RAM problems, such as BSoD's, crashes, memory errors, DRAM diagnostic LED and even post codes relating to the RAM. -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Where you are I've been Where you're going I've already gone What you're doing I've already done What you're looking at I've already seen -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* TJ The DJ of Tech
