Day 17: I am still without a working PC. MSI has yet to even unload my mobo off their RMA truck and scan it in despite receiving it 4 days ago. I hope that if and when it comes I will not run into the same problems I encountered before. One of my USB 3.0 header's pins were bent so I sucked up to MSI in a letter included with my shipment. I have been stuck on a 2014 Macbook Air provided by my school. I have already exhausted time-wasting options like watching all four seasons of House of Cards and have been continuously refreshing Newegg for the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW. I have not eaten any FPS since the day my beloved was taken away from me. I worry that when I return my membership to the PC Master Race will be honored. Send help. Sincerely, bill

I'm thinking of getting my mom some decent and comfortable headphones for mother's day. Would she like the Sennheiser 558 or 598? If so, which one would be better for her? Is the 558 quality good enough?

I am working in an IT-Company and we have girls day coming up. Basically the purpose of this supposedly is to fascinate 14-old girls for working in the IT-industry. They will be at our company for about 4 hours and we need to come up with some kind of mixture of entertainment and technology. The ideas that came up were: Give each one a computer, put a switch in the middle and let them build a network and do a pong tournament in the end. Or get a few raspberry Pi's and do some simple web server/homepage creation. In the end we all agreed that this weren't the greatest of ideas, so now I'm here, asking you for your crazy, creative ideas. GO!

Hey guys ! I have a question to ask you guys so 1) - Is it ok to leave your computer overnight for downloading games ?
-
So my internet has been inconsistant with Comcast. Some nights I get 8.1Mbps and some nights I would only get 1.5Mbps but I could load most pages and videos on youtube at standard resolution. I was ok with this. I could get by with daily tasks and most evenings I had no problem. The past four days have been especially bad. Like 107kbps download BAD! The past two days it has been all day, morning, evening, and night. It is also a very wierd pattern of issues. When I initially try to load my email or a webpage or a video my ping spikes and it struggles to load. Once it gets past a certain point, it will load at a decent rate and lowest quality. I have reset my router, changed passwords, scanned my personal computer for viruses, called comcast and nothing has helped. It's very irritating to not even be able to load email images, or videos, let alone games. My setup is a comcast modem/router with a linksys router connected. My personal computer is one story down and using wifi, but I have a second desktop connected via ethernet to the comcast modem. Both are having the issue. Any advice/input would be greatly appriciated. TT_______TT Thank you.

Amazon knows what consumers like, that is exceptionally speedy shipping that can outright replace the need to go into a retail store for most of their needs. Now with same day delivery (and even within 1-2 hours), Amazon is poised to make your average Walmart cry at the idea that consumers won't even need to leave their homes to get household items delivered the same day. I'm all for this, the benefit is only going to increase once Amazon starts fielding their drones for local deliveries, cutting out the middle man (in this case, UPS or DHL or FedEx) entirely which will save them even more in the long run on shipping, which is pricey on its own. http://techcrunch.com/2015/05/28/amazon-expands-same-day-delivery-to-new-markets-drops-price-to-free-for-orders-over-35/

So I'll start this off reminding you the Wii-U is a few years old already. These bugs/issues probably won't be fixed. Unboxing Impressions The wii-u is pretty simple to set up. It comes with everything you would expect it to other than a second controller. There are great instructions in the box, so you can recommend one to your less tech savy friends/family. First Boot Like most consoles it's really easy to get through all of the installs. It took me about a half an hour before I was playing Super Mario 3D Land. Most games need an update for your system and with my 50mb/s speed it took around 10 minutes to update smash brothers (You can play offline without the update). Playing with family My mom sucks at all games, even wii games, but she was immediately having fun with the rest of us playing the included Super Mario 3D Land which was the only bundle available in my region. Other third party games and even nintendo games can be more challenging. Mario cart was fine, but it was difficult for beginners to get the hang of super smash bros even with the most basic control setup (wii-mote only). Problems Up to this point I was really impressed with the console and how easy it is to have fun playing games even for 'hardcore' gamers like me that spend a good few hours a week on my favorite titles, but there are some glaring flaws. The experience of playing with only the wii-u gamepad outside the TV room is terrible. You need to put it on a stand and use a different controller to play it, but the game-pad is the best way for me to play because I need to order the gamecube adapter online due to region availability (Canada). It took me an hour to even figure out how to set it up and I was playing a game made by nintendo. Your average nintendo fan isn't going to be able to set it up without serious frustration. The IR blaster on my gamepad does not work properly. I can't use it as a remote for my TV or my cable box, and it doesn't let you manually change the signal type. You have to manually select that each one doesn't work, and samsung TVs give you over 30 options that you have to go through. Why can't I go directly to signal type 25 when I already know the rest don't work? I spent a good half hour trying to get it to work and I still had issues. I may have a broken controller, or the system doesn't work with my TV, but I have 3 TVs of different brands and none of them worked with the IR blaster. Conclusion As long as you realize that aomw of the Wii-U's 'special features' take some 'special work' to use them (and some don't work), the rest of the console is great. I don't feel ripped off at all, as it only cost 300 bucks which is only the price of a few full priced games. Lots of the accesories work from the old wii, so it doesn't feel like you are endlessley shelling out money. If you like nintendo games, you'll like the wii-U. If anything it's a great system refresh for the old wii, and helps nintendo seem less like a joke than the original wii. It still brings that childish feel, but true 1080p, a wide array of controllers, and the epic games it has are a way to make it seem like a fun party console instead of the old wii; which was fun at parties, but only because you could watch your drunk friends try to perform physical activities and fall on their butt.

Hey forum, I have a dilemma. So I waited for Prime Day to come around. I was going to buy an 850 Evo 250GB, so I did. Then there was a good deal on the BX100 250GB, so I bought that too. I now have both. I know that the 850 Evo is worth more and should perform a bit better and that the BX100 should perform only slightly worse and is meant to be more reliable, but I'm wondering: What should I do with them? 1) Do I use the 850 Evo and try to sell the BX100? 2) Do I use the BX100 and try to sell the 850 Evo? 3) Do I use both and call it a super awesome upgrade? If so, should I/can I raid them to have a ~500GB effective boot drive at about 1GB/s? Both SSDs are still in the box as of time of posting. If this post is in the wrong place, please move it.

When I first saw this thing I thought it looked kind of dumb and didn't see the uses. But as I thought about it more I figured being able to play it on the couch or in my bed, or while cooking dinner it would be a pretty neat idea. The battery life it suppose to be amazing while streaming from your PC also. I've heard like 7+ hours. As it is releasing in a couple of weeks I'm getting more and more interested. Thinking of going to pre-order it I do a quick recap of all the specs and features about it. As I'm doing so I notice that it is currently not supported with mobile GPU's. I'm sure I'm in the minority here of people who game on a laptop but finding that out was disappointing. I thought it could be a neat idea that would come in handy from time to time. But it just won't work. Maybe some software updates down the line or Sheild2.0 will laptop GPU's be compatible. But for the time being it's just not meant to be. Anyone else thinking of getting it at launch or are waiting for the pc streaming to be supported more and out of beta first? http://shield.nvidia.com/play-pc-games/
