Original message: New: I tried connecting another internal SATA device to my computer and it wont detect the new device. Recently, attempting to connect a brand new sata device causes the computer to crash. Booting after a crash it sometimes does not post, but may post after showing an error screen saying the system has failed to boot. It will load into the operating system, load to desktop but functions poorly ( low desktop FPS ) which is an entirely new issue. Restarting the computer usually results in windows reporting an error, or the computer failing to post several times. My specs are: Windows 10 home 64 bit American Megatrends International, LLC. 2.07, 10/6/2022 13th Gen intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900KS, 3200MHZ, 24 Core(s), 32 Logical Processor(s) 2x16GB G.Skill trident Z5 RGB Series (intel XMP) DDR5 z790 steel legend wifi 1080Ti Duke (B0722YBZGK) GPU WD Black SN750 NVMe SSD (wds100t3x0c-00sjg0) Boot drive EVGA Supernova 1600 T2 The old drives were Seagate 2TB FireCuda Solid State Hybrid Drive (ST2000DX002) I'm going to leave the computer completely off for now. Solution: The computer was rebuilt with the 3 radiator fans and 2 Sata drives connected to the same Sata power cable. With someone's direction I divorced the sata cable powering the fans from the sata for the drives. The Hybrid drives are working fine now, and I added 2 more SSDs to the computer and it works perfectly fine now. I'm glad I didn't waste a bunch of time scanning hard drives and unnecessarily rebuilding the PC.

Hi I don't really know where to put this feedback. I usually listen to the WAN-show on spotify because well its really long and a perfect commute/gym podcast because of that. The Problem is the Sponsorspots are usually overdubbed which I get because there probably different contracts for different plattforms or something. Those just voiced out sponsorspots are inconsistent in volume and usually just way louder than the rest of the WAN show. Which not only kinda sucks but sometimes is even painful when I can't change the volume because my hands are occupied or my phone is in my backpack or something. Like this not quite scientific meassurment I just did in audacity. (Windows volume 50%, spotify volume in win-soundmixer set to max and spotify voulme 75%: so on my set up a comfortable listening experience maybe a bit on the louder side) the wan show itself is approx in the -20 dB range just like the vistaprint sponsorspot (#2) but the first and third sponsor spots (Sweetwater and Moment) are approx around -24 dB. Which is quite siginificant and you can also quite see it in the attached screenshot. wouldn't it be possible to automatically adjust the sponsor volume to average-wan-show-loudness +1 or 2 dB to account for breaks or something like there is not that much dynamic in Jakes voice when he reads out the advertisments, so to me -an editing noob but at least somewhat familiar with sound engineering - it looks like this could be done with not that much afford but maybe I am wrong there

I'm looking into getting a pair of headphones I can use to listen to music and game with on the side. I want over-ear headphones and closed back ones since I want to be able to use them in shared spaces. I have done a little bit of searching and these (https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=29514) seem well recommended and well suited to my use case. Does that sound right, or would a different headset in a similar price range be more appropriate. On top of that, would these headphones require an external amplifier or DAC to work well?

Hi, I bought a refurbished PC some years ago, the Lenovo Thinkcentre M82 SFF with an i3 2120, and i got a second hand processor, the i7 3770 so i could upgrade it a bit. Installation was flawless, removed the heatsink, cleaned the old thermalpaste, appied new one and put back the cpu cooler. Then i plug it in and nothing. I get 3 short beeps, 2 long and 1 short again. I searched the internet a bit but i could not find anything sadly. The processor is supported, if the spec sheet from lenovo is to be believed. and the motherboard chipset says that both CPUs are supported. I tried clearing the CMOS but nothing, i also removed the ram and still the problem persists. Beeps.m4a This is a recording of the beeps. Thanks in advance!

Plugging my GPU ARGB into my CoolerMaster case splitter
Darkcipher posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hi LTT, Hoping for a little help here, I have a CoolerMaster H500P Mesh. It has 2 200m ARGB fans attached to the case. These are wired into a splitter that has 3 male heads attached to my motherboards ARGB header. The 2 male heads are plugged into the 2 female ARGB fan ends leaving one male spare. I have the sapphire 6800xt and it has an ARGB out so you can link it to your other stuff. I know you can't put more than 5v through one ARGB header but I can't find a breakdown of the number of V dedicated to LEDs in my GPU so I would love to know if I'm going to blow my ARGB header by plugging into my splitter. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated -
Summary According to a familiar source for TheGamer, the digital stores for the PS3, PS Vita and the PSP, will shutdown around July. An announcement is apparently being planned for the end of March. Chances are that the physical copies of games that are currently also available on the digital markets, will increase in prices once their digital counterpart will no longer be able to get downloaded. Quotes Personal opinion: This kind of comes out of nowhere, especially for the PS Vita which is the more recent console out of the 3 mentioned. It’s worth noting that some of the games that are solely available digitally will be ‘difficult’ to preserve due to copyright most likely. Need some advice. I just built a new system with the below specs. CPU: 5600x Mobo: Gigabyte b550i Aorus Pro Ax SSD: 1TB Intel 665p RAM: 2x 8Gb Ballistix 3600 MHz (BL2K8G36C16U4B)/ 2x 8GB Trident Z RGB 3600 (F4-3600C18D-16GTZRX) (I've tried a whole bunch of different memory, actually) PSU: Corsair SF750 GPU: EVGA 3060ti xc Case: Velka 7, aka 'The Toaster Oven' Sadly, the new build would randomly crash and restart with the dreaded "Kernel-Power Event 41, Bug Code 0". After a bunch of testing, I narrowed it down to XMP. Regardless of which of the three Gigabyte approved Ram Kits I use, enabling xmp will cause this error. And before you ask, prior to deciding XMP was the culprit I tried 1.) New PSU 2.) Different GPU 3.) Different CPU 4.) Different RAM 5.) DDU uninstall and re-install of GPU Drivers 6.) New BIOS 7.) Disabling Fast Boot and other Windows settings 8.) Clean windows install. 9.) Thinking REALLY positive thoughts. 10.) Building outside of the "hotbox" case in case HWinfo wasn't catching a weird heat spike. I'm pretty confident at this point, XMP is my issue. So, now that I know that, what should I do? Would a mobo swap solve this? Manually doing the memory timings? Some other bit of tech wizardry that I don't know of? Alternately, how much of a performance hit am I taking NOT enabling xmp? Sorry for the wall of text. ANY advices is very appreciated. -Ben

Hi All, I'm looking to upgrade my monitors and i'm torn between 2x Asus PG279QM or 1x Neo G9. I think i'd prefer a Neo G9 overall but honestly there's some key questions I cannot find the answers to that would make me instantly regret a purchase of this magnitude. I almost always use my Home PC and Work PC concurrently, thus having two monitors currently works really well for me as I can have my work PC up on one whilst my Home(Gaming) PC is up on the other. I use an external USB switch to switch my KVM input to either machine at a button press. I guess my Samsung G9 Neo questions are simply: Can I run 2 separate PC display inputs as split screen using PIP or PBP? Is the split screen formatting configurable, i.e. i might just be using my Home PC for music at the time so i'd only need a sliver of the screen real estate. Does this multi PC configuration cause any issues or stop any features. I'm expecting G-SYNC/Freesync to go out the window but this wont be used whilst working anyways, anything else however? If you can think of any other pros/cons which might help me decided between a G9 or dual-monitor please feel free to share. It appears after browsing the forums and reddit that my use case seems pretty niche most people only display 1 PC on their Ultrawide at a time and most questions similar to this regard the virtual monitor or fancyzones on 1 PC, This would be my first ultrawide experience and I have to admit losing the display customisation of dual monitors is kinda frightening me for the £1700 price tag. I wish there was somewhere I could test drive an ultrawide but my local PC stores never have any connected up to PC's only displaying demo's.

Hello, today I go a phone from my friend and it turns out to be an BQ Aquaris X2 with 64GB of storage and 4GB RAM. I discovered, that its bricked. I can't access fastboot, adb, or edl (Qualcomm 9008). There is no file manager and the phone app works but you can't call anyone because Quicksetup is blocking it. If someone finds a solution, I would appreciate it very much. Sincerely.

Hello. In an unfortunate accident, Mountain Dew was spilled onto the outside IO of my motherboard (ASROCK Z97 Pro4) and IO of my GPU (GTX 1060 SSC 6gb), also spilling directly onto the PCB of both. I personally believe my CPU and CPU socket is fine due to the liquid cooler I had over it, and that my internal storage devices and RAM are okay. But, My motherboard and GPU were soaked and are currently covered in residue. Secondarily, my PSU is an interesting gambit. Although the mountain dew was spilled from the top and my PSU's fan is on the bottom, there is a vent next to where the cord plugs into, and right in the path of the mountain dew. I have a lot of questions, but let me give some details first. The mountain dew was maybe, at most, half a can. I unplugged the power supply from the wall within 10 seconds of the can spilling into the fan housing and ripped out every single component and dried them off with those blue shop towels as best as I could. While pulling my GPU out I noticed that the PCIe was completely covered in liquid, hence why my monitors went black. Meaning that current was running through the GPU and every pin was connected to each other. I did not notice if the GPU shorted out in that time. I set up every component that I thought got wet in front of a box fan, (i didn't have anything to produce heat and wasn't sure how that would work on the soda.) I then found this video, detailing that I could put my GPU PCB and MOBO PCB into a 99% isopropanol alcohol bath (with no mention of how long). Is this a reasonable idea? Would I have to take the cooler off of my GPU to do this? What do you recommend I do to resurrect my PC?

So i got my hands on these nice pieces, http://europe.beyerdynamic.com/shop/dt-770-pro.html And http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/cpindex.pl?scy=IT&slg=EN&ctn=X2HR/00 The price range is huge, the DT770 Pro is closed and the Fidelio X2HR is open. Never i had such products only Gaming headsets which are fine, Thought to step my game up and have some nice Headphones to test. I have no idea how i should test which one i like tho, when putting them on the Fidelio X2HR is heaven compared to the DT770 Pro. The X2HR looks very good but is kind of huge compared to the DT770 Pro which i find stunning aswel. To begin with should i change anything in windows? Like there are Enchancements and Spatial sound which i never seen before as an option. (i really should look into this stuff) Got alot of Quality settings compared to my old Corsair H1500 Gaming headset they are both directly connected to my Motherboard using the 3,5 without any special sound card or amp. From what i can hear now is that the DT770 Pro has a bit more of a heavier bass. Im not really out of the Closed and open headset dilemma. What and how do you recommend me getting a final result on which I really want ? Pure audio aimed, that the Fidelio X2HR is way more comfortable overtime is a fact, but the DT770 Pro isnt bad at all! Am i missing some points to get the full experience out of these things?

Found a bug and inconvenience with the poll functionality on the forum. If you submit multiple questions into the poll, all of them need to be answered for you to submit your response. There should be an option to make a person only need to fill out one. As for the bug, if you have the maximum number of questions and you delete one and try adding one back - it gives you the message "you have hit the maximum number", even though you were one higher before you deleted a question Edit: This Originally was a poll post regarding GPUs, but it didn't work. This is why it is in the GPU section. I would delete it if I could.

closed Can't change profile pic (when adjusting)
LienusLateTips posted a topic in Forum Bugs and Issues
So I wanted to change my profile pic from nothing to a Ampharos. I uploaded it, and started adjusting AND it just popped out of the popup, and did nothing. I CAN change it to "no photo" though, so that will be my temp profile pic. -
I just noticed that this is also a thing in beta site. Profile menu seems to be bit off when arrow of it is in middle of usermenu button rather than closer to left side. If it has been like this before update, my bad. But now it looks bit odd.
-
Since the update, I was signed out everywhere (as expected, I believe). However, when trying to access the forum from my phone, I can no longer log in - in fact, I can access anything in the top-right corner. Essentially, when tapping the three horizontal lines icon on the top right, nothing happens, as if it wasn't a button but just an image (before the update it would open the profile/account/notifications menu). It's an Android 5.0 device, and the browser is the stock browser.
-
So, the issue seems to have resolved itself, but I just wanted to post about it in case others run into the same problem. When I initially attempted to login, it rejected my password. It's entirely possible I was typing in the wrong one, but that's rather moot now. After two or three attempts, I finally decided to reset my password. I clicked on 'Forgot my password' and put in my e-mail address. And waited....and waited.....and waited....and waited.... I scrolled down to the bottom and clicked "Contact us", but was informed that it was not available to guests, and I had to sign in (do you see the irony there?). I finally got tired of waiting and tried a couple other passwords. Eventually, my account got locked out for 10 minutes. That e-mail notification came through immediately. I clicked on the 'reset password' link in that e-mail, but it took me another page that I was denied access to (because, yet again, I wasn't signed in). I once again went through the 'Forgot my password' option and finally got the password reset link. After all that, I was finally able to reset my password and get on here to post.

Hey guys, I recently signed up for the forum and subbed to Floatplane Club, but haven't been able to use the mobile site at all. The content is great on PC, but I watch a lot of YouTube on mobile and really want to watch Floatplane Club content on mobile as well..! The issue I'm having is that I cannot seem to "click" anything. When I tap on screen links, tabs, menu icons, etc, it'll highlight blue, but nothing else happens. I can't explore past the home page. I got to a Floatplane Club video once by just typing in the URL, but then I couldn't play the video. Touching the video on screen didn't do anything. I'm using the HTC One M8 with Android 6.0 and the default Android browser. Not too sure what other technical info I could get for you. I looked through many forum posts and couldn't find anything about this specifically, but I hope I didn't miss a post and am just spamming here. Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

As some know, such as @colonel_mortis and @Ryan_Vickers, I have been trying to break the forum. After the latest patch, long strings of rich text will paste as pictures. Example: if you cannot see, that is around 7,450 letter 'a's.
