So i want to start writing under a pseudonym. Little short stories and stuff for now. What are some good free email services that will allow me to have a dedicated email address for this purpose while keeping my real name private?

A couple days ago I filled out the form to get a free NM AM4-UxS from Noctua for my recently purchased NH-U14S. I've since then received 2 emails that look to be related but with a catch. Both contain attachments but 1 of them ended up in my junk folder. I haven't opened either yet & am wondering if any of y'all who've claimed the same or similar mounting hardware have been emailed by the following address when doing so. Normally I never open an email with an attachment & find it odd that there would be one when the email is titled to be a shipping confirmation. c.vodica@rascom.at

Say hello to Alto, an email client that hopes you'll be thinking "You've Got Mail" for years to come Orignal Article from CNET: https://www.cnet.com/news/aol-wants-to-save-the-internet-from-the-death-of-email/ Alto treats your inbox like it's data, applying its algorithm to organize your emails, even resurrecting older messages if they become relevant in future dates. "Every action you take online results in an email, but the inbox view of this data is an outdated laundry list and does not serve up what you need when you need it," the Alto team said in a statement. If you book a flight months in advance, Alto will bring the note back up when you're about to travel and pair it with related emails such as hotel reservations or car rentals. It also links to other apps on your phone, like Uber or Google Maps. While the folders have some cool features, like the Photos stack that collects all your emails that have images attached and compiles them into a gallery, Alto's automatic organization still has more to learn. The team studied email users and found most had multiple accounts, whether for work or personal use. And there were deals and discounts, lost within the sea of emails. "What we found, almost anything you do online, or even in brick and mortar stores, results in an email," said Marcel Becker, Alto's director of product. "It's all just sitting in various mailboxes; no one is deleting things anymore." Not much here, other than group think doing what group think does. Source: http://thenextweb.com/facebook/2016/07/25/facebook-wikileaks-links/ Well, I'm not surprised considering Facebook's history of blocking things. I'm surprised that twitter hasn't done the same. Especially when you consider how much pull the DNC apparently has over CNN, MSNBC, and Reuters. The original title is "Facebook admits blocking Wikileaks' DNC email links, but won't say why". But I didn't use that title because I don't see any evidence of Facebook admitting that, and refusing or failing to say why. P.S: Alex Stamos is a "security executive" for Facebook, according to his linkdin page. Although with recent history in mind, despite his response, this still stinks to high heaven. Thoughts?

Dear fellow pcmr/linuslovers I call upon your help once again. At work i have been asked to devise a way to change permissions on Outlook desktop client. We all use the same login to access the client so I am not even sure there is any way to do this. We have three work stations all running win10 (if it makes a difference) that access the same email. Ideally we want to have one computer have master access where they can see every folder, and the other two remaining work stations on see select folder. This is due to sensitive information coming through the email that we would like to keep away the two other work stations. How can i lock folders to be hidden on two machines, the folder can be visible to them but not the contents. Maybe some sort of password protection or something of that like. Cheers to every one who has a stab at this. P.S The cake is a lie.

Quick Question: Is there a good free way to have a message automatically send out to anyone who sends an email to a Gmail account for a specified time? Like, something that would allow you to auto-reply to everyone "Sorry, I'm on vacation. Will get back to you on Tuesday", for the week that you're on vacation (not using it for that purpose, just an example).

Hello there, i would like to have the assistance of someone, who is experienced at least, in the aiding of a project of mine for school, which is about making an automatic backup system that also creates registries of the backups themselve. Here is the relevant mode of backup: Must backup gigabyte sized files (from user directories only) and to a folder called (BackupUser_Giga) and create a log file of the ocurred named as (BackupGU_Log). This backup must occur from 8 to 8 days, every friday, at 7 pm (19) and 30 minutes. After 3 months of the backed up files being in the directory (BackupUser_Giga), all theyr content are deleted. Now what i stated above, is one of the 6 different backups i must do for the "User files and directories", "System files and directories" and "Essential files and directories", where for both "System and Essential files and directories", after the backup or deletion, an email/message to the administrator must be sent. If someone can show me how one of these shell scripted procedures is done, i can then later alter them to each required form :p. Any help is greatly valued. Note: I have found some coded files online, but theyr hard to comprehend. If someone has the patience of knows one of those properly explained, do post a link below, which is just as helpful!

Hey Guys, I just bought a domain from Godaddy, and i didnt want to pay their extra fee to get an email through them. Is there a way to use my domain to get my own email adress without paying them? Ex, my own email server or something like that? if you need more info, let me know! Thanks!
-
I have just setup a basic exchange 2013 server on a failover cluster and local emails should be functional across the LAN however, I am wondering how you setup a purchased domain name from a provider such as goaddy and setup the server and domain for email internet wide emails for both sending and receiving.

Does anyone know how to change your email domain name for EX: XXXXXXX@Gmail.com, or XXXXXX@Outlook.com Like you know the text after your email...Does anyone know how to change it and make a functioning email account just with a different domain

Hi all, My Dad has a 7 year old HP potato, you can hear the hard drive in the next room and it has DDR2 ram. Still, it launches chrome in 3 seconds, and plays CS:GO at 40fps. However, it is so loud and hot, that I want to treat my Dad with a nice, new PC for emails, word processing, and web browsing only, as that is all he does. His main wants in a PC are for it to be small, quiet and allow him to opens a 10 windows at once, no gaming. OS: Cheap windows 7 (I'll find it somewhere :D) How is this? So this happened today. I was using a vpn but decided to go to my email (outlook.com) which made it lock me out of my account and it asked me security questions. I forgot the security questions and the recovery email that i had on the account i had deleted it. Now im getting really frustrated because i cant get back in. I have tried password reset which still points me to asking for security questions which says fill as much as you can i filled as much as i could but still it kept sending me a email try again. I would really appreciate if you guys can help me.

Original article: http://arstechnica.com/security/2015/10/dont-count-on-starttls-to-automatically-encrypt-your-sensitive-e-mails/ I think these numbers are absolutely horrific, considering that languages such as C# natively only support STARTTLS encryption for email connections. My thoughts goes out to everyone living in the top listing countries.

Hi all, wondering if any sys admins or web gurus can help me out here. We have reason to believe that our domain is on a few blacklists for whatever reason. We've recently migrated to gmail at work, and since then, a growing number of users are getting bounce backs and delivery failure notifications. We've been in contact with go-daddy already, as we've already had an issue with a couple of their clients. But was wondering if anyone has encountered this problem before and was aware of any reliable websites or service providers that can verify integrity of a domain? Trying to be proactive about it and remove ourselves from any other blacklists before we encounter an issue. Any help appreciated! Not sure if there is a more fitting category for this post either.

MS Outlook is really bad if you want to use it to create or read HTML based mail. Previous versions of outlook like outlook 2003 renders HTML using Internet Explorer 5 and mordern versions of outlook use MS Word to render HTML files! Seriously Microsoft? Word for HTML, that's worse than using the engine of Internet Explorer 5 in 2016. t doesn't even implement the most basic styling features like margin or padding. When i created my CSS and HTML based newsletter and imported it into outlook 2016 it looked completely disfigured. Outlook is really useful and has tons of features that open source mail alternatives don't have but I am switching over to Thunderbird now just because it uses the Gecko Engine. Anyway can anybody suggest some good bulk-mail clients? I would rather be helpful.
