<removed by staff> I just recently bought a $6,000 Pre-built PC. Yes I chose not to build one myself but that's besides the point. The biggest issue I have had is My display will just go black and lose signal from my RTX 3090 GPU. It'll happen right in the middle of gaming and no its not thermal throttling. It's been monitored. I don't know what the deal is. My computer spec's are below. CPU: Intel Core i9-10980XE GPU: Nvidia RTX 3090 SSD: Patriot P300 1TB HDD: Seagate Barracuda 6TB (2017) RAM: Adata DDR4 3200 2OZ 4x16GB MBD: Asrock X299 Steel Legend

Hello, I just built a new PC and couldn't find out why anything I do causes to break it. It can happen when I open the action center, the start menu, or even just scrolling or hovering on the start menu could cause it. Even just using Chrome, first everything but the curser would freeze, a second or two after, the curser follows, then the screen turns black. At that point, it either 1. reverts back to normal ready to freeze again, 2. reboots completely, 3. shuts down, or 4. reverts back but with major graphical glitches. My specs are: - Ryzen 3 3200G, - (iGPU) Vega 8 Graphics, - EX-A320M-Gaming Motherboard - 2x8 GB RAM from PNY running at 2133 MHz, - An Intelligent 700w PSU - 1 TB WD Blue HDD Additional info: - I haven't done any overclocking or anything related. - I don't think it's the PSU since it's been used for a similar system without any problems. However, I'm not ruling out the possibility. - I've tested the RAM and it showed no problems. - I've used DDU and tried the latest, older, or even no Radeon drivers (Adrenalin) at all. Still freezes, no change. It actually seems like the newer version makes it worse than the older one. - I've tried to update the BIOS from the BIOS itself (network update), but it said that it's already on the latest version. - It also freezes and crashes on safe mode. - Every time it freezes and turns back to normal, there's a spike in GPU usage (100%) in task manager. - Temperature is somewhere between 35-50°C. - CPU-Z also sees my cpu as an "AMD Ryzen 3 Mobile 3200G", I don't know if that's correct. - Playing Terraria can make these freezes happen more often (one time even BSoD'd). - When it turns back to normal after a freeze, the radeon software completely breaks, sometimes it's just a blur window, and I think that at other times, it might be the one causing the graphical glitches I mentioned above (Edit: Yep, it is). And on the newer version, it tells me that an error occurred and if I want to send the details to AMD. - When a sound is playing during the freeze, the sound freezes too, like buzzing. I've tried to dual boot with Ubuntu and found that Ubuntu runs really well. Tried playing Terraria on it as well and no significant frame drops whatsoever, it felt like a different PC running at constant 60 fps. This probably means it's a Windows or driver problem and not hardware, right? I have no idea what causes this since it happens in the most random of times, (unless when I'm playing a somewhat demanding game where it's sure to happen). Help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm hoping someone can help. I recently just installed a new 6tb WD Blue HDD in my rig. This is now the 4th HDD in my rig along with a 1tb WD Blue, a 3tb WD Blue and a 3tb Toshiba. The computer worked perfectly fine for a full day with the case open as I was transferring data from an older, dying WD Green drive. I removed said dying drive, closed her up and powered it on. Again, worked perfectly fine for 8+ hours. Shut it down for the night, turn it on the next day, it powers on, fans and LEDs are running, but nothing on the screen. I tried two different monitors with 2 different HDMI cables and neither recognize a signal. The video card is new, I just installed it 9 months ago. I open the case back up and I notice the CPU LED on the mobo is solid red whenever I power it up. I tried reseating the CPU, the RAM and the video card. Made sure all cables were secure. Tried removing the RAM, tried just one stick of RAM. Tried unplugging the new HDD. All with the same result: powers up, nothing on the screen, all fans and LEDs running and the CPU LED still solid red. I'm trying to avoid buying a new PSU, CPU and mobo trying to figure out which one is to blame (hopefully none of I'm missing something simpler) so I was hoping someone with more knowledge than me might be able to narrow it down better. I built this computer quite a while ago so I'm aware that the mobo and CPU are quite old at this point. Just hoping they still have life in them. My main curiosity is that everything has been working perfectly fine for a long time and it just happens to go down 2 days after installing a new HDD, which leads me to lean towards the PSU, if anything. But I've had to replace the PSU a few times during the life of this rig and never has it triggered the CPU LED. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! All audio including discord audio will play for a bit and then stop and a hard restart is required. Running furmark shows that the Graphics card isnt running at full speed during the gpu burn-in test with the card running at less the 1000mhz and the temps not reaching higher than 65c. Getting a Black screen whenever I play any Game AMD!!!!!
Mio Larso posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hello , so I got an rx580 paired with a dell t3600 (a budget tight build) but when I ever I game for sometime the pc just crashes with a black screen and I need to restart it with no solution whatsoever tried cleaning the pc and reinstalling amd drivers while dduing the older version but none worked so I thought someone here might have a solution here are the rest of my specs -
Hi, No matter what game I am playing may it be GTAV, RD2, or even HoTs the PC randomly crashes following up with restart back to the login screen. No BSOD or message to say what happened before hand. Each day I play a game it crashes and this has happened 7 times now. I've tried updating to the latest OS (Version 20H2), reset my PC with my 3 HDD's disconnected because they contain all my games and 3D modelling stuff, update my GPU to the recommended drivers, placed my power settings into balance mode, cleared any dust in the PSU filter and finally my BIOS settings are default. My PC temps are fine too. 15 minutes ago I was playing HoTs and the PC crashed. I thought maybe if I tried disconnecting a fan connected to a splitter that would resolve something, idk. I've attached two Event Viewer crash logs. One before Windows reset and one after. Specs: CPU: i5-9600K 3.70ghz GPU: AMD Radeon RX5700 PSU: EVGA 600W HDD: 3 SSD: 1 Fans: 3 (One disconnected for testing) RAM: 16GB After Windows Reset - Crash1.evtx Crash6.evtx

So here's one of those worst "worst case scenarios" kinda problem. I've got a Samsung Galaxy S7 that's gone completely dead. The wireless charging shows charging when I give it juice. Other then that, nothing. I've tried the multiple hard and soft reset options (power button, lower volume increase volume combos). None of it works. No vibrations, no notification light. It just went dead. No reason for it, it just died. I'll peal it apart and have an internal look at it if I can't fix it through less violent means, but I've come on here for a fix beyond the traditional. Anyone got a suggestion?

The bootloader of my phone is unlocked. I tried to flash TWRP using fastboot but it didn't work. When I tried to get into the bootloader it kept taking me to the fastboot screen. From a forum on XDA I tried flashing the stock ROM using the MiFlash tool but half way through it gave me an error. After that the phone screen is black and no button combination or anything is working. It doesn't even vibrate. Is there any way I can fix it? Thanks for your help in advance. If you need any further details just ask.

Hello. psu Aero bronce 650w motherboard Asus prime H310M-D R2.0 cpu Intel core i5 8600k gpu Geforce gtx 1060 3 gb I was very excited when i got a I5 8600k cpu from my nephew last week, but turned quickly into horror. I took out the old cpu (i5 6400) from the mobo that was a H110M-M32 and thought it was a easy swap but no... nothing...i figured out the mobo and the cpu didnt fit together. Went to the local shop where bought the new mobo and some new ram (16 gb 2666 ddr4) went home and put it all together, new mobo, new ram, new cpu and again black screen saying no video input but could hear the pc running. Back to the shop, they was trying with the same result, they ordered a new mobo, they installed it and again with the same result, took out the gpu and it worked result...but I just got the gpu as well and it ran on the old setup. They tryed another gpu with same result.. no video input signal, they change the psu...same result, tryed another i5 and it worked. They told me it had to be the cpu that was broken when i tryed in the old mobo, but why is it working fine without gpu installed. Hope you understand the questions Have a nice day all readers. Torben

system B is multi-boot Win10 and Linux ( MBR ) system A is multi-boot Win7, Win10 and Linux ( MBR ) ok so could some one tell me why an A) AMD FX 8320 with an Nvidea GT 740 graphics card works fine and dandy no issues. but on an B) AMD FX 4130 with an Nvidea GT 620 (2gig galaxy card) and the Nvidea GT 740 when booting into win10 is always flashing at the logon screen? it flashes from the screen saver to black to welcome screen every second. to fix this problem on the AMD FX 4130 I have found i need to boot into win7 or linux and log in, then do a restart, then click on win10 and it will function normally (at least till next time). with the GT 620 Win10 reports loosing the graphics card driver but not on the GT 740.

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I have a problem with my GPU (Vega 64 Air). When playing I have a 'black screen' problem, the speed fun of my card is 100%. I replaced my old PSU with a 1000w Cooler Master (Oversized I know), thinking this was the problem. But nothing, the problem exists and I don't know how to solve it anymore. I thank all those who will give me a hand in this now become 'problem'.

Hello everyone! Last 3 days i am trying to solve my problem which suddenly appeared after 2 years of Palit RTX 2080 Super Jetstream GPU ownership. While playing CS:GO or benchmark with 3dMark at different intervals a black screen appears and the fans of the video card spin to maximum, i still can hear audio and pc interface sounds, but only hard reset helps. I tried many things as reinstalling drivers with DDU, replacing vga cables etc etc, nothing fixed my issue. Finally i tried my GPU on friend's pc with 1000W psu and faced the same problem. What i already did: Tried DDU uninstall and install different GPU drivers Updated MB BIOS Changing GPU clock offset to -200 Mhz, Power target to 70% Maximum performance option in Nvidia control panel Switching to the GPU BIOS without factory OC (there physical switch between 2 kins of BIOS on the GPU) - Replacing 2x8pin VGA cables PSU -> GPU Right now i logged sensors while crashing in 3dMark benchmark with HWiNFO64 and here it is (The exact time of crash is between 23:38:20 and 23:38:30, 816-820 rows in csv document): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQsyYAsOKTWZFfoMAVn92lMZebfroa9G7L2huHay_ibGoGsGKbcG6sBJC7JWzSOTjq616imOty9EOrE/pub?gid=1362595003&single=true&output=csv Also getting the warning in the event viewer: "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered" I am grateful to everyone who could help in solving my problem My configuration is: OS Windows 10 Pro 64-bit CPU Intel Core i7 8700K @ 3.70GHz Coffee Lake 14nm Technology RAM 16,0ГБ Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1336MHz (18-18-18-43) Motherboard ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. having_sudden_freeze_issue.mp4 (Also in task manager 3D graph you can see a sudden downfall in graph line) I have Asus TUF A15 4800H RTX 3050 (2021 India edition) laptop (Asus TUF Gaming FA506IC) - with Windows 10 Home installed. I have this super annoying issue where my whole system stutters for a microsecond or second, and it happens quite frequently. The audio gets distorted, the cursor freezes, etc. Whenever I do anything literally, like writing a Word doc, being on a voice call on Discord or playing games, there are times when it stutters. It isn't long, occurs for about 1-2 microseconds, but it's there for sure. Whether it's YouTube video or video file stored on my pc being watched on any of the media players (I use MPC as my default), everything stutters for a brief second or two, like the audio and video becomes janky and frames becomes choppy. It happens in such a flash and at random times that I am not able to record it. For 1-2 microseconds the notebook randomly freezes/stutters and the sound distorts (robotic) for a second or two, then returns to normal. This happens at least once every 1-2 hrs. This stuttering is more noticeable when the laptop runs on battery - every 10 sec of the video played, there is a frame drop. This ruins the watching experience of video/movie when run on battery. Again, when the laptop is plugged in - it runs smoothly. Also sometimes I get BSOD (Memory Management , WIN32K_POWER_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT) while powering on from sleep/hibernation and sometimes only black screen is visible when waking up from hibernation. I have to forcefully power it off and restart in order to use my laptop again. I have installed the latest drivers from Asus, and I have the latest BIOS version. Even gave my laptop for servicing and they reinstalled Windows 10 but still no changes to the stuttering. - Ran memtest86 - passed 4/4 tests with 0 errors (took about 4 hrs. to complete). - I got low Cinebench R23 score - sometimes as low as 9800 to 10200 - while others having the same laptop get around 11400 to 11600. - I suspect thermal throttling - as temperatures run very high during the test - ~92*C but this doesn't explain random lag and black screen I get when waking up from sleep. Could anyone pinpoint the problem so that I can convey the same to the service center and rectify the problem. My laptop still has 2 months of warranty left. asus_tuf_a_15 random_stuttering.mp4

Hey there, I recently installed a new Gigabyte rx 6700xt and well, a few issues cropped up. I'm currently running on Windows 10 version 21H2 with an Intel 9700k on an MSI MEG Z390 Ace and 32GB of DDR4 3000 C15 RAM. I used to use an ASUS Turbo GTX 1080 and none of these issues were present with it. The biggest issue is that the GPU drivers seem to crash under certain circumstances. At first it was just when using my webcam on Zoom, then it started affecting No Man's Sky, and now it's affecting Star Trek Online. It starts with extremely bad stuttering once the game loads up, both audibly and visually, with some visual artifacting. If I try to move the window of the app in question, it'll crash the GPU drivers. Sometimes that fixes the issue, at least with Zoom and NMS, but not always, and problems return on a reboot. I'm using up to date drivers, even reinstalled them. I've removed my old nvidia drivers using Guru DDU as was recommended when I looked at how to uninstall the drivers. After 4 days, the problem only seems to be getting worse. I haven't really had much luck with finding threads online talking about my specific issue, but I have seen similar issues reported a while back - those that had solutions didn't work for mine. I also have issues with my ASUS VG27A @ 1440p running at 60fps while connected to the 6700xt when it used to run at 144fps on my 1080 despite using the same DisplayPort cable. While it's not a major issue, I would like to be able to take advantage of the 144hz with my new card. I haven't tried using older driver versions yet, would it be worth while to backdate the drivers? I'm also wondering if there's a hardware compatibility issue I didn't catch when considering the upgrade? I really appreciate the help!

I just recently installed a new msi 3060ti (3 fan 8g) and I'm having issues when i run anything that requires it to work hard. If i play any sort of demanding title (apex, mw2, pubg) both my monitors (1080p 144hz) will black out and turn off. My computers RGB will stay on but the audio will cut out after a few seconds. This however does not happen with easier to run games like terraria. If i completely turn off my computer and unplug it the games will run perfectly for about 5-10 minutes and the graphics card stays at a solid 60 degrees Celsius pretty consistently. I have a lot of RGB and power hungry stuff in my system with a 650w 80+ gold power supply, I think it could be that issue but im not quite sure. Any tips? https://pcpartpicker.com/user/FinneseRice/saved/#view=RzzQP6

I have a HP Omen 2019 dc1xxx laptop running Windows 10 Home. Specs: Intel Core i7-9750H CPU RTX 2070 with Max-Q design 32GB of ram I have had it for 2-3 years now. Recently it has been running into an issue where I will be gaming on it normally while it's connected to my Asus VG279 monitor and then randomly everything will go black, my monitor will lose HDMI signal connection and will turn off and my laptop monitor will go off too. I can still hear sound in my headphones and interact with the OS like alt-f4ing a program, but both of the monitors will turn off and no longer work until I restart my laptop manually by holding the power button. I have no idea what caused it as I have tried to let it sit and when I let it sit in idle it didn't happen, but when I close specific programs that I believe are the cause it doesn't make a difference it always black screens in the end. And sometimes I can game and use my laptop for hours at a time and it will work for as few hours and then again even while just playing a game as I normally would be, poof my monitors turn off. Hopefully you guys can help me trouble shoot this issue, thank you in advance.

All my screens went black and every fan in my PC ramped to 100% frozen like that until I manually turned it off when I tried to take a screenshot in Monster Hunter Rise. A day later I had no signal when turning on my PC but I fixed it by reseating the GPU. Now whenever I'm in a game for a few seconds or just randomly while not even touching the PC the screens go black and the fans ramp up to 100% every time. Monitoring power draw and temps of the GPU using HWInfo64 showed nothing unusual right before it happens. I bought the card used over a month ago and according to the seller the card is nearly 2 years old ran out of warranty last month and has never undergone preventive maintenance. My mainboard has 4 LEDs that are supposed to show errors(cpu/vga/dram/boot) but it doesn't show anything one of the 4 randomly glows for a few seconds on boot and then they stay off. specs Win10 home 64bit 21H1 Thermaltake GF1 850W AMD Ryzen 5600X RTX 2070 SUPER GAMING OC 8G MSI B550 Tomahawk bios 7C91vAB 4x Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 3000MHz C15 Samsung 980 PRO 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 Some samsung SSD and an old seagate HDD Thing I have tried so far Updating drivers/windows Completely wiping my drives and reinstalling windows Resetting and updating bios Putting the gpu in a different pcie slot Using an old bequiet 500w power supply Using different pcie cables and slots for both PSUs Tested every single ram stick Undervolted the GPU Thing I couldn't try yet because of missing materials: Opening the GPU to inspect for damage or reapply thermal compound Swap out the motherboard Swap out the GPU Any ideas for things to try? I have been getting this issue since last month. My pc randomly freezes and screen goes black. Without hard reboot it stucks like that. After rebooting my display driver temporarily disables itself and after another normal restart the pc works normal until the next freeze which randomly occurs. The issue doesn't happens during specific app or state, it is completely random, sometimes when i browse through internet via chrome, sometimes when its idle. I've sent my motherboard(tufb550plus) and ram sticks(4x8gb3200mhzcorsair) to the service and they didn't find any problems. I don't trust the service's work since they only updated bios and sent it back to me but i already updated the bios before i sent the motherboard to the service. So i think problem might still be motherboard but not sure. I also stress tested both gpu and CPU and they seemed working fine at leat for 15 minutes under stress. I repeatedly did the test and didn't get any errors. I also replaced all the drivers and even i reinstalled a clean windows. I don't have any spare parts to replace neither so i am confused which part to replace first. PSU: Corsair RM750 80+ Gold CPU : ryzen 5 3600 GPU : rog strix rx 5600 xt Motherboard : tuf b550 plus Ram : corsair 4x8 gb 3200 mhz ddr4 M2 ssd : james donkey 500 gb And i am using two screens one of them is msi g241 (main one) the other one is old samsung led monitor(vga socket so im using hdmi switcher). Note: i have been using this setup for almost two years and i didn't get such erros but after i moved to new apartment the issue started. Only thing that changed was my apartment. A friend told me the power instability might be the reason for this kind of issue but i am not sure about this either. So please help if you have any idea. I am running out of options and replacing the whole system one by one is very expensive for me at the moment.

Hi, so for around 6 months now i have had a problem with my pc where it randomly black screens followed by a reboot. This used to happen infrequently but recently the issue is becoming more prevalent and i worry for the health of my old HDDs. I'm actually a little worried typing this right now knowing it may crash on me.i have tried to narrow this down for a while, I have uninstalled and reinstalled graphics and audio drivers, updated bios, ran memcheck, ran both automatic and manual stress tests. All my thermals are fine, I believe I have plenty wattage for my build as there is no crash at full load on all components. Speaking of my build: GIGABYTE Z390 Gaming X i9-9900k / aio cooler GTX 1070 FTW 2x 16Gb GSkillz DDR4 620w Seasonic PSU (around 7 years old) 1tb nvme 3x HDD (one is usb powered external) Multiple usb devices: Behringer audio interface, IFI DAC, Maschine mikro mk3, bluetooth adapter 2x monitor The problem seems to persist despite my best efforts. As i said, under extreme load my pc is fine, runs like a champ, just yesterday i thought it could be either overheating or psu so i multitasked multiple programs at the same time; Adobe Photoshop (200 layers) + Maschine 2 (track playing) + Abelton live (track playing) + MPC-BE (running madvr video renderer on highest settings) + Gundam Evolution + Firefox (100 tabs and multiple videos playing). My PC took it like a champ, CPU reached 100% with max temp of 100c, GPU also reached max % I've been searching in the bios trying to find some possible solution, I thought my psu was not supplying enough wattage, this doesn't seem to be the case, so then i thought maybe sometimes there is too little load on my psu. So I turned power loading on, did not help. One thing I am noticing is the problem is much more frequent with my second monitor (actually a tv ; Vizo m50e-1) plugged in. My problem most frequently occurs when i am rendering anime through madvr (usually when swapping to fullscreen mode on second monitor) though it also occurs when madvr isn't loaded. My problem nearly never occurs when playing video games. I have recently switched to windows 11, however this happened also on windows 10 (less frequent). I am starting to believe there may be a problem with my motherboard, I recall around a year ago hearing a capacitor hissing on my mobo, it used to annoy me. I don't hear the hiss anymore. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, thanks for reading <3

I tried swapping ports and use hdmi but no difference. Different cable didn't work either. Tried using ddu to completely remove gpu drivers and reinstall no luck. Tried resetting cmos and changing the battery. 2) Another thing i was facing is a pretty big delay when alt tabbing out of full screen games where the screen goes black for like 2 seconds and then going to desktop or into the game where i have not had that with my previous monitor. It's like the monitor is losing signal when i alt tab.. really weird. Thanks for the support in advance.

I just upgraded from windows 10 to windows 11 by enabling tpm 2.0 in my msi bios. system reset and installed windows 11 no issues. Then I decided to install updates...after downloading and restarting my pc it entered a seemingly endless restart loop. After about 30 mins I did a force shutdown and when I powered it back on it doesn't even show my bios. It is just a black screen. I tried force shutting down 3 times after and each time its a black screen. I've unplugged my monitor and plugged it back in and removed all my usb devices but nothing has helped. It was working just fine....what can I do? Specs: ryzen 5 5600x 240 gb ssd (windows) 1tb ssd 1tb hdd 16gb ram msi tomahawk b550 gtx 1060

Hello there, So my last gpu GTX 1060 6 GB broke. For a while I had random black screen flickering and now it stopped responding at all. No display outout and after booting up the fans just stopped spinning. So I changed my gpu with my very old gtx 750 ti while I buy a new one. Now I'm really confused which one to pick between RTX 2060 at 26K INR(325USD) or RTX 3050 at around the same price it seems. Benchmark shows that 2060 still outperforms 3050 by 30%. But it has better RT cores. And just Nvidia launched 4000 series and DLSS 3.0 I am wondering if 2060 is still a good option for 1080p 60fps at high settings. DLSS 3.0 will only work in 4000 cards because it has newer RT cores. But still we have chance they can implement it on 3000 cards in future. Also 3050 consumes less power around 50W. My plan was to wait for a year or more till newer budget gpu comes. But those are gonna be more expensive and power hungry. Seems I have to buy now. Let me know guys what you think. my system: Ryzen 3 3100 PSU: Corsair cx 550
