Water got a reaction from Accursed Entity in BenQ GW2765HT 1440p IPS Monitor
BenQ makes some of the best gaming monitors out there from what I have seen. I see a lot of pro gamers using their monitors and swearing by them, so they must be good quality at least. I don't really know what that says about their IPS panels though, since all the gaming monitors use TN panels.

Water reacted to That Norwegian Guy in Linus takes the final step in abandoning his original audience.
I know this will draw hate as is common on criticism, keep in mind this is my opinion and I'm sure Linus will do fine when shifting his content on to a different demographic altogether. Afterall, smartphones and general consumer gadgets are popular watching and I'm sure many of Linus' new audience is here and ready to defend him. But this is constructive criticism, so I would appreciate the same gesture in return.

Having been watching LTT for a long time, it has gone increasingly downhill over a long period of time for me:

Linus prioritizing boutique video quality sacrificing all quantity and depth of insight. We're down to less than a video a day, and the ones we get are usually shorter and less opinionated/ insightful. Forgetting who the audience is with an increasing number of consumer gadgets, (seriously, a wi-fi plant humidifier??) mobile phones, and other borderline tech of fringe interest to PC enthusiasts, even further lowering the quantity of content desired. Getting on the same release bandwagon as all. the. other. tech. channels. Every video with a product I want to watch either doesn't exist at all or is covered by OC3D, Linus, TekSyndicate, TastyPC, SWEclockers and HardwareCanucks ALL AT ONCE. Random WAN show guests that I very often find to be irrelevant and annoying. Getting that weird uncomfortable YouTube "buddy club" vibe that just kind of smells bad to me. Josh from Fractal being an exception. Why go to PAX? There are hundreds of YouTube channels doing PAX. Just why? Where are all the hidden gems in PC hardware? Have Linus completely abandoned reaching out to manufacturers for samples of interesting new coolers, cases, NAS boxes, you name it? It just seems Linus is more interested in autonomy, getting all the same stuff as everyone else, and losing touch with the market. It used to be about consumer enlightenment, showcasing stuff you might not have heard of. Remember the Thermaltake Tt eSports BAG? That kind of thing. I bought one because of Linus. What has Linus shown me in the past 6 months that I wanted to buy afterwards? Absolutely nothing, I'm afraid.
But the final step that is probably going to make me unsubscribe, is not going to Computex. Seriously, that is gutting. That is a stone-cold knife in the back to the original audience of the channel, to whom Computex is probably the highlight of the entire year, after the huge thrill of covering it last year. I could forgive anything from Linus but not that.

It makes me sad, as Linus Tech Tips has been my very favourite channel for years, but now it is my least favourite of all my subscriptions.

    My 2 rubel, anyway.

    TN isn't the problem.
    30Hz is the real problem.

To be fair consoles are great for people on a budget and play casually.

Have you ever played FIFA, NHL, or any sports game around a computer? It's dumb and insane. I feel PC gaming is more serious while console gaming is more laid back. It's hard to play with M+KB in a recliner.

Water reacted to __NaZ in @Linus Power Consumption, and why it is not irrelevant.
    Hello Linus

I've just finished watching the latest WAN show, and just like the earlier episodes intels breakthroughs in the field of powerconsumption just got waved aside, as if it was totally irrelevant.

If you haven't known yet: You have an international audience. There are people living outside of water-fall-canada and sunshine-arabia where energy, especially electricity, cost a fortune. Just to give you an idea, in Germany the prices for electricity have doubled since the year 2000, currently hanging around an average of 27 euro-cent / KWh which is around 40cents USD/KWh, which is like 500% of your cost of electricity (May be wrong, just did a quick googling).

Years ago most everyone let computers run for hours, because electricity was affordable. NOW i know noone anymore who lets their computers run. I myself turn my computer on and off severell times a day because my idle-power demand is quite high. When all i do is browsing the interwebs i mainly use my phone/tablet, because they need a 'metric butt ton' less power. I've been decreasing my used KWh the last 3 years significantly, but still my electricity bill is just stagnating/increasing slowly.

I can understand if you just what to ignore that, since it isn't effecting you, but there are also positive things being triggered because of that. Battery-life-time mainly raised by developing less power-consumptiv components, not that much by build better batteries. And who doesnt want a Laptop or a phone the last at least a (work)day?

So please Linus, If you haven't got anything good to say about, just dont comment about that at all. You have way too much influence your viewers opinions, to just blow that off.

Thanks for everyone who kept reading so far.

    Happy Threadbashing...

    kind regards

Okay I didn't see anyone post an ip for an MC server, and I'm currently running one. Seriously, if someone has a better server, as in one that can take more, please post it because I don't wanna seem like I'm just plugging my server here. BUT I did recently start a server for some friends and I, which I'd be happy to let you guys jump on. It's just got factions, essentials, and that sort of thing.
Again, don't wanna seem like i'm advertising here, but here's the IP

It can only have 30 people on it, which is why I say that if someone has something better, I'd be happy to just remove this post and just use that.
I have fairly good and stable connection, but on full load it might lag a little bit still. It is dedicated though, so should be up 24/7 unless I'm changing a bunch with it.

Water reacted to Godlygamer23 in Realistic Benefit of Faster RAM and Smaller Timings
The timings tell how fast different parts of RAM respond. Lower CAS latency=lower latency between the CPU and RAM. Main benefits of faster RAM are people that do video editing or convert files. You will get a huge benefit in that regard. In gaming, you may gain 5-10FPS. Having tighter(lower) timings will allow lower clocked RAM to perform better. RAM frequency and timings can be compared to CPUs. CPU A @ 4.2GHz may not perform as well as CPU B @ 4.2GHz per clock because of lower IPC.

well he doesn't need dominator platinums either, and for the cost of dominator platinums he could get 2400mhz memory, not that his board could use it.

Water got a reaction from Rohan.Le.Roux in HAF-X Build- Red and black themed
    Looks really awesome!
Just a thought, but putting some red LEDs in between the rad edge closest to the side panel and the edge of the case might illuminate the hardware nicely and reduce any harshness produced by the red LED fan. I find putting more than one source of light in a case to be much better on the eyes, even if the light is dim. It gives the light a little less contrast and makes it flow nicely.
Very nice build, though! I'm very jealous of the motherboard especially!
