Morrie Sells Wigs got a reaction from Mark Kaine in MW on battle net...I'm confused.
So, just a quick one, guys.

I've tried Googling this but I don't get any real answer.
It is regarding the battle net version of CoD MW (2019).

I don't own the game on BN, and yet the option is there to download it.
I am slightly confused, as I have not bought it even though I can install it.
Is it possible I might download it only to get into the game and find out I have to pay, or that maybe it's a trial

There's nothing to suggest it's a trial so I don't know what to think.

I suppose I could just download it and take a chance, but it's a big install and I don't want to waste my time on it if it won't end up actually letting me play - especially as I could be downloading something else in it its place.

Any thoughts, would be greatly appreciated.

None of those pc components are worth buying.

The PS4 is still a surprisingly good little console, with a huge back catalogue.

If at all possible, try to find a PS4 pro for the same money.

You'll need ps plus anyway if you want to play online and having it will give you access to some really good games to get you started.

The steam game could be installing in "components" or the download is heavily compressed, both resulting in low write speeds.

    That's good.

Just as a personal observation, that gritty, sparkly effect you have is something I noticed playing Fortnite (briefly, don't batter me...lol) and I noticed turning "effects" off or to low got rid of it completely.

I don't know if The Finals has a setting dedicated to effects, and you say you found a fix anyway, but I just thought I'd mention it in case you see it in other games.

Not saying it'll work, but something to consider.

I'm not even sure exactly what causes it in Fortnite when effects are turned to high, but I just noticed it cleaned it up significantly when I lowered it or turned it off.

It's largely irrelevant how many frames your system can push out as it's entirely dependent on your monitor/TV and whether is has a high refresh rate.

You will only ever reach that maximum number regardless of how powerful your system might be.

    Example:

If you only have a 60hz screen you'll get no more than 60fps even if your computer is able to offer 200fps.

    120hz?

120fps will be the maximum frame rate available.

So, what is the resolution and refresh rate of your screen?

Starfield is the most obvious example that is supposed to be virtually unplayable on an HDD.

This is, in part, due to the sheer amount of loading screens and fast travelling which are egregious enough on a fast SSD.

The title is entirely appropriate, for several reasons.

First, it is helpful to anyone who doesn't know anything about the person in question and who they were before their decision, so it is providing relevant information.

Second, the person in question uses their "dead name" multiple times, including on other social media, which implies they are not at the point yet where the use of their old name offends them...if it ever does.

I would suggest that the thread title is reasonable because of these two reasons alone.

You really need to upgrade to a 144hz screen as you are wasting the power you have playing at 60fps...and you are at a disadvantage against other pc players because of it.

As for the stuttering etc... Fortnite can be like that when you first start the game.

Try and wait 5 minutes in the main menu without doing anything before you load into the map.

As for why undervolting is a thing:

lets say at default a card is running 1.1v... that is chosen by nvidia because its "safe" ie not to low and not too high.

now most cards can go 1.0v no problem though,  so undervolting them to ~1.0v simply makes them run cooler --------> nv boost now has more headroom and can boost higher for longer (ideally indefinitely)

Its really simple (once you know how the curve editor works at least lol) and just generally the thing that makes most sense with newer cards for performance gains.

If you even get 5% that is usually less.

Gpu boost already clocks the cards as high as they can in their max safe temp and power limit set from nvidia.

Morrie Sells Wigs reacted to Mark Kaine in Overclocking 2060
i agree you should probably look up how nv gpu boost actually works, as i said temps (and voltage) are pretty much the deciding factors and manually overclocking rarely makes sense. if anything undervolting makes sense, especially *if* theres a temp issue.

these cards all "auto overclock" some more some less also depending on cooling.
