What drive cloning software are you using? I believe most should be able to clone a partition onto a new drive.

Either way should work fine. I would go for the faster speed of the SATA port.

    Yep.

Your SSD should take on the old drive letter, but you can always change the drive letters manually in Disk Management later.

It's accurate until we have any evidence to the contrary. At the moment it's the only statistic we have.

Statistics aren't "great", they're how we measure fact. Until the statistics agree with your claim, it is false.

No, before we determine a "cause" we need to have an effect first. How can we decide why phones are bending if we have no evidence that they are bending?

It doesn't matter how long it takes to reach a 0.0005625% fail rate, it's not significant. You say "many more". How do you decide "many more" with numbers that small? Twice as many? A hundred times? A thousand?

For context, ASUS motherboards have an average fail rate of 2.49%1. That means an ASUS motherboard is 4427 times as likely (on average) to get to you DOA than your iPhone 6 is to bend. I haven't seen the statistics for iPhones just flat out not working when you get them, but it's going to absolutely DWARF this number.

Maybe new evidence will come to light and will adjust this. Until that happens you're being a knitting circle talking about shit you know nothing about.

    http://www.businessinsider.com/why-the-iphone-6-plus-bends-2014-9

'It’s just that under a particular type of flexing, the phone is prone to bend mainly because a metal insert meant to reinforce instead spins in an axis too close to the critical point. If they were further apart allowing better support to counter the flexing and not spinning, it would make it more resistant.'

Potentially, this is may be a reason why the iPhone 6 Plus has been bending, simply an issue of internal design and not inherent aluminium / thickness weakness (although they undoubtedly contribute).

    Some images here:

What do you guys think? Anyone well-versed in this area got any thoughts?

EDIT: From Gizmodo (i know, i'm killing myself as this is typed):

'Update: We asked industrial designer Don Lehman to take a look at the explanation and respond. "It makes total sense," he says. "If you look where the creasing happens in the aluminum, it makes sense because it's directly next to a very rigid bolt." He also points out that this has only happened to a minuscule fraction of users, and it's unlikely that the design will change. "If we opened up a 6 Plus a few months from now, would it be the same? My guess is yes." '

Personal opinion, for what it's worth:

This makes way too much sense not to be relevant. May be down to bad scaling by apple, or simply may have been overlooked.

Apple have still not given a reason for the bending, only told us how many cases they are aware of and how they test. The fact they aren't telling us what is causing the issues (unlike antennaegate where the cause was well publicised and acknowledged) says to me that a structural design issue is to blame.

also first 'news post' and maybe even my first topic so criticism is much appreciated

So I found LinusTechTips a bunch of times really, I was always searching up all this computer hardware stuff and getting interested on what made PC so good, and well... you Linus would always show up like the top 3 videos on every freaking search I made on YouTube. So I finally gave in and just had to subscribe. And to my surprise LinusTechTips was amazing! Very good high quality videos even thought it was during the age of only Linus, Luke and Etzel (sorry, if I misspelled it), and it really was, at that time it was hard to find other YouTube channels that were as dedicated to PC hardware . I really don't have a favorite series or anything like that, I like them all equally, but If I had to choose it have to be the WAN Show. And outside of LTT it would have to be LinusCatTips of course. Now for reviewing new products and stuff I really don't care, but having some more reviews on hardware/ software that lean more towards people like me whom are content creators would be great! LTT has really changed a lot about me in so many ways honestly. Now the product I would love to win would have to be the Surface Pro 3. Even though I'm 99.9% sure I'm not going to win this, or for anyone to even read this. I have been keeping my eye on that piece of amazing engineered hardware for a long time, aside from all that rant that Linus gave it on his review. Wow... I wrote a lot

NOTE: I'm gonna do this in two parts; the tablet on it's own and then one about the Type cover

    Tablet Review

I bought my Surface about a week ago; it is pretty good actually. Unlike Linus, I am probably the ideal person to own this device. I am a Student, and am really passionate about new and interesting technology like the Surface lineup of devices.
I am pleased to report that I find the tablet a very satisfying purchase. I also bought rthe Type cover 3 as well, and I am going to do a review of that product too later on in the review.

    The Good:
The Surface is really light; it's surprising really just how light it really is to be honest. I really enjoy using it not just for work but for a little bit of play too. Although it is clearly a device designed for work, it also works well when you watch movies and TV shows on it. The lack of weight really helps in such a scenario as you can hold it for quite a long period of time without your wrists feeling like they have been set alight by the fires of hell. The screen is a good size: I always thought that 15" is the ideal size for a laptop. Whilst this is true to a certain extent, The Surface wit it's 12" screen is really quite something. I can still see things on the screen (which is always a positive), it's not too small and not comically sized. I would say the size compliments both the tablet and the Laptop. On the subject of the screen; the screen is extremely vivid, offering perfect (or as near as makes no difference) colour accuracy as well as really nice resolution. From a normal viewing distance, you cannot see the pixels, the screen is in general a beautiful piece of engineering. The actual experience that it offers is pretty awesome. I found that Windows 8.1 on the Surface makes a lot of sense, and it actually works well. The Metro UI is actually really great to use and I genuinely don't find myself using desktop apps much as the Metro ones are just as good, if not better. Take Internet Explorer, for example. It really is a great thing to have such a browser on your computer. I know in the past, it was shit, but now, the metro one is super speedy and looks new, fresh and vibrant. Plus, it works better than anything else when it comes to text scaling, so I'm very happy. Speaking of Text Scaling in Windows 8, obviously not all applications are 100% supported, but the vast majority are. The most notable one that does not support scaling is iTunes, which is probably due to Apple being a dick about making a proper program, but I'm not too arsed, the application is just slightly pixelated and it really doesn't look too bad. Apple probably will get their shit together eventually. The Surface screams work. I for some reason find myself actually wanting to do work on the surface because it just feels like it is what it was designed for. I really like the fact that the Windows 8 App Store is stocked worse than a Soviet Supermarket, it means fewer distractions to be honest, which is a really good thing in my mind because I am always one to get distracted easily. I also like the way that it never gets hot. When idling, it is always at about 40 Celsius, with the fan not on. Although when you have the back obscured, it does get more toasty because a significant amount of heat escapes from the back. It never really gets hot though unless you are doing serious things like gaming. It is worth noting that the fan never spins up until at a significant CPU usage occurs. So really don't worry about it getting hot, it doesn't. When it comes to gaming, it is better than I expected. It can play CIV and games like that, so I'm pretty happy. The performance in everyday applications is really good too, you really do see the snappiness of the UI in normal Windows. When compared to a conventional tablet, it really performs much better, with zero lag and zero stutter. Obviously, I don't run one and a half million tabs in chrome, so it is somewhat difficult to predict what your experiences could be, but mine is a positive in this field. The battery lasts all day - Literally, I can use the thing all day without needing a recharge. I can take the device wherever, use it whenever, and still have a decent amount of charge at the end of the day. Sometimes, I don't even have to charge it overnight. The Pen is also very good, it is like a mouse, giving you more accurate touch input when you need it. The pen is a must, good thing they include it in the package. It is accurate and the touch sensitivity is very good on the scale. I use it predominantly for writing notes on OneNote and whenever I rarely use desktop apps, I use the pen for extra precision. The power Brick needs a mention, it is awesome: it is small, lightweight and doesn't get overly hot. Obviously it heats up, but it is nowhere near what I am used to at all. Also, it has a fucking USB port on it, this is too awesome, I fucking love it! I literally always have had to bring my phone charger everywhere in order to not run out of juice when I need it. But with this, I just have to bring one unit, it is immensely great. Accompanied with the obvious, like the fact that it runs Windows apps, there are more advantages, I will add more if I think of more. The bad:
Price: the price is shitty, there is no real way of getting around this, I find that it is horrific that Microsoft would charge so much without offering proper office, I don't actually mind about the keyboard, but not to include Office, i think is kind of terrible. Although don't think it isn't worth it, if you have the money, I would thoroughly recommend it to you, it is a really nice device. Great for anyone really who does more things than sitting on their arse all day. No Office: I have mentioned this before, but the fact that they provide the shittier version of OneNote is kind of a bit of an insult. They really need to have included full OneNote at the least as well as maybe Word, Excel and PowerPoint [should be included] EDIT: Full OneNote is availiable from the Microsoft website for free nowadays, and it's worse than the Surface one, it isn't well-optimised and lacks in it's tablet compatibility. It is still a little on the heavy side when it comes to tabletting, you can still hold it for a while at arms length and it's ok, but you really don't want to do it for the sake of your comfort. Microsoft predictive text is shit: I type the word 'shit' in and it corrects it to something else. This is fine if, per say, there was a clear fucking way to add it to the dictionary, but I have not discovered it yet! It took me half an hour to set the default home screen and search engine to Google: WHY? I just want to use my own homescreen with my search choice. I care too little for Bing. It is useful when I want to search 4 pages into results to get the page I am looking for, but since all I want to do is get to the fucking webpage, Bing is useless. Shut the fuck up Microsoft, I decide which search I want to use. Type Cover Review:

The Type Cover is a worthy accessory to the Surface, but that's what it is: an accessory. No more, you can do without it quite happily, although if you lust for a keyboard which isn't the touch screen, look no further than the Type Cover. It has a very tactile feel to it, but I would rather have an extra 2-3mm of travel distance tbh. I think it's something to get used to, but yano. By the way, i find it better than the keyboard on a MacBook, so you can take some comfort in that.

In terms of the touch Pad, I hate these modern touch pads. I would rather have the older ones where the keys are seperate to the pad itself, but Apple changed this, making a right click an awkward experience. I like right clicking! I find it an essential part of my life, so when these new touch pads emerged, I thought they were shit. I still do. They are shit. Very shit.
EDIT: I have found myself extensively using multi-touch gestures on the touchpad and they work very well in internet explorer touch (the browser I use)

Apart from the point that it is backlit very well, there is really nothing more to say about it except that it is terrible at lap typing and a table is very much necessary [EDIT: With time and sitting properly, it's good, but it's still worse than a similarly-sized laptop, also it is better with time spent using it]. You can still type on your lap, but a full laptop is better at it. Especially if you are me and you slouch rather than sit up straight.

TL;DR, it is a good device. I would recommend you buy one, it makes more sense than pretty much every laptop on the market right now in pretty much every sense. I bought the i5 model with 128GB of storage, which is very adequate, I am pleased to report. So, yano, I recommend it fully. No idea what that bastard Linus was on about

    jk, love u linus rly

Of course, I am more than willing to answer questions about the device.
