A 750 Watt power supply should be just fine for your estimated power consumption.

Yeah I agree with @SEAL62 the rm750x will work just fine even when overclocking  so you don't need to worry.

I'm running a 5800x (PBO) and a 3090 (stock) on Corsair's SF750 PSU and its plenty. My UPS shows 575W being pulled from the wall while gaming with my 3090 at full load and 60W of that is my display.

At stock, the 3080 Suprim X is rated for 370W vs my 3090's 350W but I still think you'll be fine.

Thanks for the words of reassurance. I had a feeling it would be fine, but I also saw that an 850w PSU was 'recommended' so I wanted a second opinion.

So, I gave the old GTX 960 that I added to my rig some new Kryonaut thermal paste and adjusted the fan curve, and now it's running at about 63 C, down from 75+. Of course the ambient air is cooler now too but I still think it helped a lot. However I'm not sure I even fully trust the thermal diode in this card because even shortly before I redid the thermal paste, with the fan running at 30% it was idling at about 19 C, which was pretty much exactly what the room temp was. Pretty sure it should still be at least a little warmer than the ambient air even on idle, my also idle 1080 certainly was. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edit: Figured I'd add that my 1080 didn't have the fan turned off due to low temps because of the fan curve I applied for folding, so that's not why it was running warmer at idle, because that would have been my first thought too.

My CPU was the same way you put load on it it went to 180-190f no lad would be room temp then again it is a CLC.  but then reapplied so cheap paste as out of the good stuff and now it maxes at full load at 150-160f and clc went from 90f to 110f max. i likely need to reapply on my Rx 580 but its temps are still reasonable for now but i do have an inverted ATX case so the heatsink is sitting on the card. and i like it as i can show off the MB etc with the case on a table on the left hand corner of my room

I HATE ABSOLUTELY HATE THE 0RPM SETTING I want them Running NO MATTER WHAT I have to chage that setting 3-4 times a month it seems as if i dont my ssds get upset as they are right next to the video card.

The client, by default, will start downloading the next WU when it reaches 99% complete.

This can be adjusted by setting:

next-unit-percentage to a number between 90 and 100 in extra client options in the "Expert" tab or on a per-slot basis under the "Slots" tab in the Advanced Control.

Hint: just leave it at the default its not usually worth screwing around with and config changes often require stopping and restarting the client to be loaded.

note how i have more work units than slots

its mainly caused by an option you can add to a slot called next-unit-percentage with valid values from 90 to 99 determining when to start looking for the next task after the current one

Sooooo, checked my power draw due to a warm circuit breaker. (had to move some systems to a different circuit) I'm pulling ~3.6 Kw.😬 Yeah, sanity is out the window.🤪 Electric bill is going to be just a little higher this next month, like an order of magnitude higher.

So, I was bored and did a little math on how long it would take us to pass EVGA at the current points per week. Only about 17 weeks... Heh, makes you wonder how much things will continue to grow and how long it'll be before people taper off.

That made me think in my EVGA GeForce 9600 GSO 768mb... used that card for years in the E2180 until I retired it because the cooler was failing... maybe I could try and repair that.

Indeed! I used for years an Intel E2180 and still missing that old machine... now my oldest running one is an AMD A8 and after dealing with its termal issues is just on all day

And that make me wonder if its worth to try and Old Athlon64+.... could be worse that the old Intel Atom? Uhmm.... and a GeForce 8400 GS? (I dont think what that one is support, and would melt anyway XD )

I'm still running a 5820K, some older CPUs really just keep on chugging, and I love it.

Holding out for Zen 3, and I'll likely get an NVME drive myself then.

The first message is just that the assigment servers is overloaded and cant direct you to a Work Server to get a job for the GPU

The Second Message is just listing the requirement for the GPU and refer to how fast that class of GPU can process a Work Unit.

    Nothing to worry about
