ayazam got a reaction from Mister Woof in Worth Upgrading My CPU?
hey, we have pretty close on the specs, mine was 4670k with a slower graphics card, gtx 1060
but i oc the 4670k to 4.5Ghz, when i change to R5 3500 i see no difference in average fps,
probably caused by the slow gpu

the most improvement are, i can now multitaskin while playing game
example, i can play ac origins with browser opened in 2nd monitor
when im using 4670k, u either play a game, or do something else

i'd recommend go for zen 2 or wait for zen 3
i5 10400f is not worth it, cause you probably match it with b&h motherboard
and your ram can only run at 2666 Mhz cause a limitation by the b&h motherboard

Then no there's no penalities other than the obvious lower multiplier.

That's really good. I don't see a problem with that.

    Like damaging it? No.

    With undervolting? No.
Setting a high voltage causes degration not undervolting.

I reckon you'll benefit more from running the FCLK at 1800MHz (if you run the memory at 3600) rather than 1600MHz FCLK but tighter timings. You could try just shoving some more voltage in that kit and trying to get it to 3600 CL18/17.

500W is enough for that specs

    so... my choices
    Corsair RMx 550
    Seasonic Focus Plus 550
    EVGA Supernova G3/GM 550

im not saying you are just a loyal one
oh good then if you plan on getting the KF

yeah, i personally recommend the SE 234
because its cheap and perform as good as the $99
you could get something for the $60 you save 😉

are you overclocking the i5 6600K right now? and will you overclock the 10600K?
if youre going with stock clock, the 212 is still okay

212 evo IS outdated, but it still perform better than any stock cooler

if youre just running on stock clock, i do agree with what bluescope819 saying
why stay with intel 14nm++++ when you can get a better performing (more core/thread) cpu from the other side

its true that i5 is still enough, but i cant get more out of the 4670k with h110i GT
and at cod warzone, it reach 100% if i didnt change base priority from high to normal
and i think i could get more fps with newer cpu, even if my old cpu is overclocked

and wow, i get a reply from a thread starter which thread i use for MB reference for my build and client's build
yeah 3500-3500X is the odd man out, but at GN (3500X) its better than 3300X OCed at gaming
so i think i would get a better performance with 3500 for a cheaper price

thanks, i think ill take the 3500
